Job Description
Ryder Last Mile is a leader in the logistics and delivery industry, specializing in final mile delivery services with a robust carrier network across the nation. As part of Ryder System, a globally recognized transportation and logistics company, Ryder Last Mile focuses on delivering exceptional service for customers by ensuring timely and efficient delivery of products to their final destinations. This company excels in providing comprehensive delivery solutions including the transportation and installation of large items such as furniture and appliances. Their expertise and professional approach help maintain their reputation for reliability and customer satisfaction in a highly competitive market.
The role offered by Ryder Last Mile is an exciting opportunity for carriers interested in contracting to deliver and install furniture and appliances within the final mile delivery segment. This position is contract-based and involves working as a two-person team that provides in-home, white glove delivery services. The role is not just about delivery; it includes careful assembly and installation, offering customers a premium service experience. Compensation for this role is competitive and dependent upon the number and complexity of daily routes handled, offering the potential for carriers to maximize earnings based on their performance. This position is ideal for experienced carriers with a background in final mile installation, those who have access to the appropriate vehicle and equipment, and who thrive in a customer-facing, service-oriented environment.
Delivering for Ryder Last Mile means becoming part of a network that benefits from consistent routes and an established customer base. The company supports its contractors with weekly settlements and 7-day payment terms, ensuring rapid and reliable payments. Moreover, contractors enjoy discounts on Ryder truck rentals, which can help reduce operational expenses. There’s also significant growth potential for carriers that perform well and demonstrate reliability and professionalism. Ryder demands carriers operate with high standards, as indicated by their requirements for valid DOT and MC numbers, insurance coverage, clean background and motor vehicle checks, and registration as an LLC or corporation. The vehicle used must be a 26-foot white box truck equipped with a lift gate and without any advertisements, ensuring a clean, professional presentation at delivery sites.
In this role, carriers will provide critical services that enhance the customer experience, making sure that deliveries are not only made on time but also installed to exacting standards. The interaction with customers during delivery and installation is a key part of the job, so impeccable professionalism, communication skills, and technical know-how are essential. Ryder Last Mile contractors contribute significantly to the company’s reputation and are valued partners in its business model. This role will be particularly appealing to carriers who value independence, competitive pay, and the opportunity to work within a supportive and expanding network in the logistics and delivery sector.
