Job Description
Ryder Last Mile is a prominent and trusted leader in the logistics and transportation industry, specializing in final mile delivery services. As part of Ryder System, Inc., a Fortune 500 company, Ryder Last Mile focuses on providing efficient, reliable, and customer-centric delivery solutions that meet the growing demands of e-commerce and retail sectors across the United States. The company offers a wide range of logistics services including last mile delivery, white glove delivery, installation, and removal services, leveraging an extensive network of carriers and advanced technology to ensure superior service quality and customer satisfaction.
Ryder Last Mile is currently expanding its final mile delivery carrier network and is seeking motivated and professional carriers interested in contracting to deliver and install furniture. This contractor role is designed for carriers who can operate as a two-person team and are equipped to handle in-home furniture delivery, including white glove assembly services. The compensation is competitive and dependent on the daily routes completed, with contractors enjoying flexible contract terms and the opportunity to join a well-established, high-growth company.
The role involves detailed delivery of furniture to customers' homes, ensuring all items are handled with care and assembled correctly as per white glove service standards. This position is ideal for experienced carriers who possess specialized knowledge in final mile furniture delivery and installation, possess valid DOT/MC credentials, and have access to properly equipped vehicles such as a 26' white box truck with a lift gate. Operated under contract only, this opportunity provides carriers the freedom and independence of running their own business entity (LLC or corporation) while benefiting from Ryder's established customer base and consistent route assignments.
Contractors will benefit from weekly settlements and a 7-day payment cycle, receiving prompt and reliable payments. Additional perks include discounts on Ryder truck rentals which can assist with operational logistics, as well as access to a high-growth customer base that ensures a steady flow of business. The company emphasizes partnership, safety, and professionalism, requiring contractors to maintain insurance coverage that meets Ryder’s stringent requirements, pass all relevant background and motor vehicle checks, and adhere to operational standards as set forth by Ryder.
This position requires a committed team approach since all deliveries must be conducted by a two-person team. Such a setup helps ensure safe handling of heavy and bulky furniture items, provides excellent customer service during in-home delivery and setup, and supports compliance with safety regulations. Ryder Last Mile's contractor opportunity is well suited for those looking to leverage their expertise in final mile delivery, grow their business, and build long-term partnerships within a national logistics leader.
