Nalco Water, an Ecolab company, is seeking a Field Technician to join their team in Canton, MI. Nalco Water specializes in water treatment and management, helping customers conserve over 161 billion gallons of water annually across various industries such as food and beverage, mining, and manufacturing. As a Field Technician, you will play a critical role in maintaining and monitoring air and water quality systems, particularly focusing on paint booths at automotive manufacturing sites. This position offers an opportunity to work autonomously in a hands-on, dynamic environment where you will interact directly with customers and provide technical support to help them maintain system efficiency and meet sustainability goals.
The role includes operating and troubleshooting facility processes, performing lab testing, analyzing and recording data, and maintaining product inventories. You will use specialized equipment like fluke meters and test stands to verify air and fluid leaks and support routine and special application services. The position offers a Monday to Friday schedule from 2 PM to 10 PM with a starting wage of $24 per hour. This role is ideal for individuals with mechanical aptitude who enjoy problem-solving and have strong customer service and communication skills.

Job Requirements
- High school diploma, GED or equivalent
- Experience working with Microsoft Office Suite
- Immigration sponsorship not available for this opportunity
- Ability to lift, push, pull, and carry up to 50 pounds chest high
- Ability to wear and use a respirator under certain conditions
- Willingness to work in a variety of conditions including confined spaces, damp/dusty areas, and extreme temperatures
- Capability to stoop, kneel, crouch, reach, balance, walk, stand, and climb
- Willingness to work indoors and outdoors in all seasons and weather conditions
Job Qualifications
- High school diploma, GED or equivalent
- Experience with Microsoft Office Suite
- Ability to work independently in an industrial setting preferred
- Demonstrated mechanical aptitude preferred
- Previous experience in industrial wastewater treatment or maintenance preferred
- Mechanical problem-solving experience such as plumbing, electrical, HVAC or mechanical work preferred
- Strong customer service skills with proven ability to interface professionally with customers
- Ability to analyze readings and organize data logically in spreadsheets
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills
- Experience explaining results of data gathering preferred
Job Duties
- Operate, monitor, and troubleshoot facility processes in accordance with established procedures
- Perform testing on lab samples, analyze and record results and data in compliance with company and regulatory requirements
- Conduct daily process application quality analyses using small intricate parts
- Provide routine and special application service support to customers
- Execute required chemistry tests
- Log and report data accurately
- Maintain product inventories
- Provide technical support to customers
- Troubleshoot and maintain systems as needed
- Use a fluke meter to check sensitivity
- Operate a test stand verifying air and fluid leaks
