This role as a Field Soils Technician is primarily based out of the Fountain Valley office, with the core responsibility of conducting fieldwork for projects located mainly in and around the Palmdale area. This position plays a critical role in supporting the engineering and construction process by performing essential soil testing and inspection duties that ensure compliance with project specifications and industry standards. The ideal candidate must be a self-starter who can handle multiple responsibilities in a fast-paced environment while maintaining attention to detail and producing accurate, concise field reports.

Key responsibilities include grading observations, conducting compaction testing on soils, aggregates, and asphalt, and documenting project grading activities comprehensively. The technician will also be involved in sampling and quality control of concrete and grout, contributing to the overall quality assurance processes on construction sites. In addition, the position requires performing special inspections aligned with additional inspection certifications as per project requirements. Effective communication skills, both written and oral, are essential for coordinating with coworkers, clients, consultants, and contractors, which helps maintain clarity and project integrity.
