The Field Service Technician Product Inspection role based in Amarillo, Lubbock, or Hereford, Texas, is a critical position that entails providing world-class support to customers through the installation, maintenance, repair, auditing, and training on advanced product inspection systems. Primarily, the technician will work on Safeline X-Ray, Safeline Metal Detectors, Hi-Speed Checkweighers, and CI Vision machines. This role demands a high level of technical skill to manage all aspects of field service support, including communication with customers and the service department, scheduling, preparing detailed service reports, and maintaining job assignments. This full-time position involves a dynamic work environment with frequent travel expected—up to 100% within the U.S., with occasional international travel, and frequent overnight stays. Working hours may vary and include early mornings, late nights, overtime, weekends, and after-hours as business needs dictate. The technician must demonstrate proficiency with various hand tools, digital test equipment, and an understanding of electronics, mechanical systems, conveyor systems, and AC/DC electrical distribution systems. The work environment ranges from clean manufacturing spaces to potentially damp, wet, and noisy industrial settings such as meat and dairy plants.

The role requires excellent problem-solving capabilities, strong customer service skills, exceptional communication abilities, and the aptitude to work under tight time constraints while adapting to changing priorities. Physical requirements include the ability to lift and move equipment up to 75 pounds, operate motor vehicles for extended travel periods, and perform tasks requiring standing, walking, stooping, kneeling, crouching, or working in confined spaces. The candidate must possess or be able to obtain and maintain a valid driver's license and passport, and they will be subject to drug testing as a safety-sensitive position.

Mettler Toledo offers a competitive benefits package including medical, dental, and vision coverage; a 401(k) plan with company matching; company car with insurance; all necessary tools and equipment; tuition reimbursement; employee wellness programs; paid time off; parental and caregiver leave; and more.
