The Service Technician I position at Burckhardt Compression US Inc. entails a critical responsibility for the maintenance and service of gas engine compressor packages and associated equipment utilized in diverse applications. The technician’s daily duties include performing monthly preventive maintenance and minor repairs, conducting troubleshooting to resolve mechanical issues quickly, and supporting major equipment overhauls. Additional responsibilities involve supporting equipment start-up and commissioning, maintaining up-to-date knowledge of purging and loading procedures, and actively participating in safety programs such as Job Safety Analysis (JSA) and Behavior-Based Safety (BBS) to uphold a safe working environment. Service Technicians are expected to report incidents immediately and contribute to investigations to continually improve safety performance. This position requires a hands-on and proactive approach to work, including accurate completion of daily service reports and communication with supervisors about resource needs and job planning.

The job requires physical stamina and capability to perform demanding tasks in industrial settings, including lifting up to 100 pounds, working extended hours up to 12 hours a day, and using fall protection equipment when necessary. A valid driver's license and the ability to use small hand tools are mandatory, as is the successful completion of OSHA-required health and safety training and respiratory evaluations. The company emphasizes mechanical aptitude, problem-solving skills, and proficiency in reading technical documents such as blueprints, P&IDs, and manuals.
