Vertiv is a global leader specializing in the design, manufacture, and servicing of mission-critical infrastructure technologies essential for data centers, communication networks, and various commercial and industrial environments. As a trusted service provider, Vertiv boasts a prestigious clientele, serving over 70 percent of Fortune 500 companies, including top-tier data centers and providers of colocation and cloud services. Headquartered in Westerville, Ohio, the company employs approximately 34,000 professionals and operates in more than 130 countries worldwide.

Vertiv is dedicated to fostering a culture rooted in safety, customer service excellence, and employee development. The company places strong emphasis on comprehensive technical and leadership training, delivered through its state-of-the-art Training Academy and Regional Training Centers that focus on immersive, hands-on learning experiences. Equipment such as company vehicles, smartphones, laptops, personal protective equipment (PPE), and specialized tools are provided to support the workforce. Employees also enjoy competitive benefits including 401k, profit sharing, generous paid time off, and comprehensive medical, vision, and dental coverage.

The role of Field Service Technician at Vertiv is a critical position responsible for scheduled and remedial (break-fix) service on Small to Medium Uninterruptible Power Supplies (UPS), Power Distribution Units (PDUs), and Battery system products ranging from 2 to 120 KVA. This role serves Vertiv's “Edge” market segment, which includes diverse customers in retail, financial services, and municipal sectors. The technician is expected to build and maintain excellent working relationships with customers, co-workers, and sales representatives while promoting Vertiv's core principles of safety, integrity, respect, teamwork, and inclusion.

This position demands a blend of technical skills, customer service proficiency, and administrative capabilities. The technician performs a variety of tasks including equipment servicing, troubleshooting, on-site and remote customer support, and implementation of field change notices. Safety is paramount; adherence to company safety guidelines, proper use of PPE, and safe operation of company vehicles are mandatory. Administrative duties such as timely completion of time cards, expense reports, service documentation, and cycle counts of inventory are also integral to this role.

Field Service Technicians are expected to efficiently manage their schedules and resources, make sound technical and commercial decisions under pressure, and focus on first-time fixes to maximize customer satisfaction. Vertiv champions a strong work-life balance and supports veterans with technical backgrounds, emphasizing a respectful and inclusive environment free of discrimination.

Applicants should note that the position requires travel, flexible work hours including weekends, evenings, and holidays, a valid driver's license, and compliance with safety-sensitive pre-employment screenings such as drug tests, background checks, and motor vehicle record reviews. The role also necessitates physical capability to perform duties, including lifting up to 50 pounds regularly and up to 75 pounds occasionally.

Joining Vertiv offers an opportunity to be part of an innovative company that integrates hardware, software, analytics, and services to ensure uninterrupted operation of vital applications. It is a role aligned with strategic priorities including high-performance culture, customer focus, operational excellence, innovation, and financial strength.
