The company also stands as one of the largest U.S. suppliers of safety products, ammonia products, and process chemicals. Known for its commitment to safety, customer success, sustainability, and innovation, Airgas boasts a diverse and passionate team of 18,000 associates nationwide. Being a subsidiary of Air Liquide, a global leader in gases, technologies, and services for industry and healthcare, Airgas benefits from an extensive international presence with operations in 60 countries and approximately 66,500 employees. Together, these enterprises serve over 4 million customers and patients, emphasizing a culture that values initiative, idea sharing, and empowered decision-making among its associates.
The Field Service Technician position based in Shreveport, LA, within the South Retail shop, represents a key role supporting both industrial and medical markets. This full-time role requires significant hands-on work with cryogenic pressure vessels and bulk gas delivery systems that are essential in various critical applications including medical facilities, welding, and specialty gas usage. The Field Service Technician will be tasked with installing and maintaining these systems, performing preventative maintenance, troubleshooting mechanical and electrical issues, and ensuring the operation of delivery systems with safety and precision. A typical workweek follows a Monday to Friday schedule from 8:00 am to 5:00 pm and involves roughly 50 percent travel, including overnight stays, with occasional 24/7 on-call requirements for emergency situations.
This role is deeply integrated into the team-oriented culture of Airgas, emphasizing not only technical expertise but also professional communication with customers and vendors. The technician will manage hazardous materials carefully, maintain company vehicles and equipment, coordinate inventory supplies, and participate actively in safety meetings to promote a secure working environment. The company provides comprehensive onboarding and continuous training to develop expertise in bulk gas delivery systems, ensuring that technicians remain at the forefront of industry standards and best practices.
Airgas values diversity, equity, and inclusion in the workplace, fostering a supportive environment that embraces unique perspectives from employees, customers, and community stakeholders. As part of Airgas, employees enjoy a broad range of benefits designed to support their professional and personal lives, including medical, dental, vision, life, AD&D, disability insurance, as well as retirement plans with company matches, tuition assistance, paid leave options, and early access to benefits after only 30 days of employment. The company also emphasizes family support with programs like 14-week paid childbirth benefits and provides opportunities for career advancement within a stable yet innovative industry landscape.
Joining Airgas means more than just taking a job; it is about contributing to a legacy of excellence and innovation in gas supply and related technologies, while building a meaningful and fulfilling career. Airgas invites candidates who are qualified and passionate about delivering exceptional service to apply and become part of a dynamic team dedicated to safety, customer success, and sustainability.
