Job Description

Solenis is a globally recognized provider of specialized water and hygiene solutions, dedicated to advancing the efficiency, safety, and environmental sustainability of industrial operations worldwide. Headquartered in Wilmington, Delaware, Solenis serves a broad spectrum of industries with innovative chemistries, process aids, functional additives, cleaners, disinfectants, and cutting-edge monitoring, control, and delivery systems. The company's expansive global footprint includes 78 manufacturing facilities and a workforce of over 23,000 professionals spread across more than 160 countries and six continents. This extensive presence positions Solenis as a trusted partner for businesses seeking to enhance operational performance, improve product quality, safeguard plant assets, minimize environmental impact, and ensure cleaner, safer environments. Recognized as a 2025 Best Managed Company Gold Standard honoree, Solenis continues to set the industry standard through its commitment to sustainable innovation and customer-centric solutions.

The role of a Field Service Specialist within Solenis's Industrial Food & Beverage division represents a vital position focused on supporting district operations by optimizing the use of cleaning and sanitizing chemicals and equipment in client facilities. This role is integral to ensuring that food safety programs within the Food & Beverage sector are executed effectively, economically, and safely. As the primary support resource for the district, the Field Service Specialist works closely with sales account managers to design, implement, and enhance cleaning and sanitizing programs, specifically managing Clean-In-Place (CIP) and Open Plant Cleaning (OPC) systems. This requires a thorough understanding of CIP processes in food, beverage, and dairy operations and the capability to develop continuous improvement initiatives.

The position demands flexibility, including the ability to work nights and weekends to align with plant cleaning and preventative maintenance schedules. Operating in industrial plant environments, the Field Service Specialist must comply with strict safety and OSHA regulations while maintaining high standards of professional conduct. Responsibilities further include routine service visits with testing for compliance, updating service visit databases, generating detailed reports, troubleshooting technical issues at customer sites, and collaborating closely with sales teams to drive growth opportunities. A key part of the job involves monitoring and maintaining chemical feed and equipment, performing data analysis on program performance, and actively participating in technical training to enhance skills and industry knowledge.

Candidates are expected to bring a strong technical background with a bachelor's degree in science or a related technical field, although relevant experience may be considered as an alternative. Critical skills include effective problem-solving of complex technical challenges, relationship management, familiarity or quick adaptability with industry standards and Solenis technologies, a results-driven approach, and proficiency in Microsoft Office applications. This role also requires a valid driver’s license, a clean motor vehicle record, and the ability to pass background checks, drug screening, and physical examinations.

Solenis offers a comprehensive employment package with competitive base salary, incentive plans, and annual merit increases. Additional benefits include a 401(k) plan with matching, professional development opportunities, generous vacation, floating holidays, and sick time, as well as provision of a company vehicle, laptop, and phone to enable effective field service operations. The company values diversity and inclusion, promoting equal opportunity employment, and encourages applicants who demonstrate potential to contribute value to the role even if they do not meet every qualification. This position offers a salary range from $77,270 to $113,322, complemented by discretionary bonuses, reflecting the company’s commitment to competitive compensation aligned with skills and experience.
