Job Description
Bloom Energy is a leading company dedicated to transforming the global energy landscape through innovative and sustainable solutions. Established for over two decades, Bloom Energy specializes in developing cutting-edge solid oxide fuel cell (SOFC) and solid oxide electrolyzer (SOEC) technologies. These technologies provide clean, reliable, and affordable energy that powers critical industries worldwide, ranging from AI-driven data centers and hospitals to manufacturing facilities, electric grids, and utilities. With more than 30,000 fuel cell modules deployed globally, Bloom Energy stands as a trusted energy partner for Fortune 100 companies and other innovators who demand high reliability and sustainability in the face of escalating energy needs and scarcity.
At Bloom Energy, the commitment to collaboration, innovation, and bold thinking drives the mission of creating a sustainable energy future. The company's solutions enable unmatched "time-to-power" capabilities and operational resilience, ensuring customers are equipped to navigate the challenges posed by a digitizing and energy-intensive world. Bloom Energy's focus on sustainability, reliability, and affordability marks it as a pioneer in the clean energy transition.
The role of Field Service Apprentice - Fixed Term at Bloom Energy represents an exciting opportunity to join a pioneering company advancing one of today's most promising energy technologies. This role, based in Vineland, New Jersey, is designed as a fixed-term apprenticeship lasting approximately 6 months or 1,200 hours, starting from July 2026 through December 2026. Reporting to the Field Service Regional Manager, the position requires onsite commitment five days a week, providing hands-on training and experience in maintaining Bloom Energy servers and fuel cell systems.
This apprentice role is ideal for those currently enrolled in electrical apprenticeship programs who have a strong mechanical and troubleshooting aptitude. Apprentices will receive comprehensive training covering a variety of electrical and mechanical systems including 3-phase power, uninterruptible power supply (UPS) systems, electrical generation and distribution, power electronics, Automatic Transfer Switch Systems, and microprocessor-based control platforms. The program also covers fuel cell mechanical systems such as piping, plumbing, and valve operation, ensuring a well-rounded technical foundation.
The Field Service Apprentice will learn to maintain optimal fuel cell system performance and reliability by performing system maintenance, site upkeep, safety protocols, and issue resolution. Vocational growth is supported by gaining proficiency in independent and collaborative work, troubleshooting, monitoring systems, and following safety and operational procedures. The apprenticeship offers exposure to various test and measurement equipment, electrical codes, and personnel safety products, providing a robust learning environment for developing technical skills essential for future roles in the energy sector.
Physical demands include the ability to lift 45-50 pounds, work at heights, and operate in outdoor weather conditions, reflecting the practical, hands-on nature of the role. Bloom Energy is committed to offering fair and equitable compensation practices with a salary range between $28.02 and $40.32 per hour, alongside standard company benefits.
Bloom Energy fosters an inclusive workplace, providing equal employment opportunities irrespective of race, sex, color, religion, national origin, veteran status, or disability. The company supports reasonable accommodations for qualified individuals with disabilities and promotes integrity, professionalism, and sound judgment among its team members. This apprenticeship is more than a job; it is a chance to contribute to a cleaner, more resilient energy future while developing a valuable skill set with one of the world’s most innovative clean energy companies.
