Sysco Specialty Meat Group (SSMG) is a premier division of Sysco Corporation, a global leader in foodservice distribution. SSMG specializes in providing high-quality specialty meat products to a diverse range of customers, including restaurants, healthcare institutions, and multi-unit accounts across various territories. The company is dedicated to delivering superior product quality, nutritional value, and exceptional customer service. With a footprint that spans key markets such as Los Angeles, Orange County, and San Diego, Sysco Specialty Meat Group is positioned as a trusted partner for culinary professionals and foodservice operators seeking premium protein solutions. SSMG emphasizes relationship-driven sales strategies and continual product innovation, ensuring they meet the evolving needs of their clientele while driving sustainable business growth.
This role operates as a Sales Representative within the Sysco Specialty Meat Group, tasked with executing and surpassing assigned sales plans within the designated territory of Los Angeles, Orange County, and San Diego. The Sales Representative will leverage their expertise in specialty meat and seafood categories, ideally complemented by a culinary or foodservice background, to maximize sales profitability, foster account penetration, and stimulate territory growth. This role requires engaging with both existing and prospective customers through consultative selling techniques to secure orders and promote the extensive range of SSMG products and services.
The ideal candidate will have a robust understanding of the specialty meat industry, coupled with the ability to quickly adapt to new product applications and technical specifications. Preference is given to candidates who are Korean-speaking and/or possess proven experience working with Korean protein customers, reflecting the company's commitment to culturally competent sales engagement within its diverse markets. The Sales Representative will be responsible for conducting in-person visits, delivering product demonstrations, and providing expert guidance to customers enabling them to choose the best products suited to their culinary needs.
This position requires self-motivation, the ability to manage time effectively without constant supervision, and strong customer relationship skills characterized by responsiveness and a sense of urgency. The Sales Representative will collaborate with inside sales teams, accounts payable contacts, and SSMG account receivable representatives to ensure seamless communication and prompt resolution of customer concerns. This includes managing order inputs, addressing out-of-stock situations, analyzing sales and margin reports, and implementing proactive solutions to optimize customer satisfaction and sales outcomes.
Furthermore, the Sales Representative will participate in SSMG-led training sessions and customer events, staying abreast of industry trends, competitive activities, and market conditions to maintain a strategic edge. This role offers a unique opportunity to grow within a leading specialty meat organization, leveraging a consultative sales approach to drive significant business impact in a dynamic and expanding market.
