Job Description
Avanos Medical is a leading medical device company headquartered in Alpharetta, Georgia, renowned for delivering clinically superior breakthrough solutions that help patients return to the activities that matter most to them. With a presence in more than 90 countries, Avanos is committed to innovation, aiming to address critical healthcare challenges such as reducing opioid use and improving postoperative recovery. The company fosters a nimble, collaborative culture that encourages employees to innovate continuously and make a meaningful impact on healthcare outcomes globally. Avanos Medical’s dedication to excellence is reflected in its comprehensive portfolio of products and solutions targeting key healthcare needs, with a special focus on pain management and patient recovery.
The Field Reimbursement and Payer Relations Manager role is a pivotal position within the Market Access, Reimbursement, and Medical Policy (MAR) team. This is a remote, field-based role that requires more than 50% travel, supporting Avanos’ customer engagement strategies and market access initiatives. The individual in this role will provide expert guidance on reimbursement processes, coding, billing, and payer relations, acting as a crucial liaison between the company, healthcare providers, payers, and policy makers. They will work collaboratively with cross-functional teams including clinical, regulatory, marketing, and commercial leadership to align reimbursement strategies with business goals. In particular, the role focuses on Avanos’ Pain Management and Recovery product portfolios, striving to expand payer coverage and improve patient access.
Key responsibilities include developing and executing strategic approaches for payer coverage, monitoring reimbursement trends and payer policies, and facilitating the authorization and appeals process. The manager will engage with key opinion leaders, specialty societies, government organizations, and payer decision makers to influence policy changes that benefit Avanos products. The role demands exceptional communication skills to translate complex clinical and reimbursement information into clear, effective messages tailored for various stakeholders. Additionally, the manager will support development of payer education materials and reimbursement tools, and actively participate in trade shows and industry events to promote Avanos’ Patient Access Program and build strong physician advocacy.
Avanos values ethical conduct and compliance, ensuring that all market access and reimbursement activities adhere to relevant legal and regulatory requirements. This role not only requires technical proficiency in medical coding and reimbursement policies but also a strategic mindset to identify market opportunities, navigate barriers, and drive initiatives that enhance product access in the healthcare market.
Employment in this customer-facing position is contingent upon meeting vendor credentialing standards, with accommodations considered for medical or religious reasons if applicable. Avanos offers a competitive salary range from $135,000 to $157,000 annually, supplemented by an attractive incentive compensation program and comprehensive benefits. The company prides itself on being an equal opportunity employer fostering a diverse and inclusive workplace. Join Avanos Medical to make a difference in healthcare products, solutions, and culture, and contribute meaningfully to improving health outcomes worldwide.
