The Field Property Claims Adjuster role at Liberty Mutual is an exciting opportunity for professionals passionate about helping clients recover from property damage. This position requires local travel within High Point, NC, and surrounding areas, making it ideal for candidates residing nearby. In this role, you will take a hands-on approach to assessing property damage and guiding customers through the claims process with empathy and expertise. Your work will involve visiting insured homes to conduct thorough onsite damage investigations, preparing detailed repair estimates, and collaborating with vendors such as contractors and cleaning services to facilitate prompt repairs.

This territory-based role offers a dynamic daily routine in the field, allowing you to engage directly with customers and gain practical experience. Liberty Mutual supports new hires with a comprehensive five-month training program blending virtual and on-the-job learning with occasional in-person sessions in Lewisville, TX. The position also offers mileage reimbursement and the potential for a company-provided vehicle upon meeting mileage requirements. Experienced and licensed new hires may be eligible for a sign-on bonus. Job Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree or equivalent experience
  • At least 1 year of directly related experience
  • Valid property and casualty license or ability to obtain required licensing
  • Residency within or near High Point, NC (27263) and surrounding areas
  • Capable of performing onsite inspections including roof access and attic, crawl space evaluation
  • Ability to work independently in a field-based role
  • Excellent communication and negotiation skills
  • Comfort with technology and computer systems
  • Ability to manage time effectively and handle multiple priorities

  • Working knowledge of claims handling procedures and operations
  • Proven ability to provide exceptional customer service
  • Effective negotiation skills
  • Ability to independently manage workload and exercise good judgment
  • Strong written and oral communication and interpersonal skills
  • Proficient computer skills to work with multi-faceted systems
  • Bachelor’s degree or equivalent experience with at least 1 year of directly related experience
  • Ability to obtain proper licensing as required
  • Ability to manage multiple competing priorities and organize daily tasks
  • Strong time management and organizational skills
  • Understanding of building construction principles

Job Duties

  • Investigate and evaluate onsite to resolve complex coverage and damage issues
  • Prepare complete estimates of repair for covered damages
  • Access roofs by ladder and inspect attics, crawl spaces and basements for damage
  • Handle moderate to complex claims independently from first notice of loss to final closure
  • Work in a vehicle in the field daily and handle occasional desk assignments
  • Explain coverage of loss and assist policyholders with itemization of damages, emergency repairs and additional living arrangements
  • Coordinate vendor services such as contractors, emergency repairs, cleaning services and replacement services
  • Participate in catastrophe duty when called upon
