Job Description
Liberty Mutual Insurance is a well-established leader in the insurance industry, known for its commitment to delivering exceptional customer service and innovative insurance solutions. With a strong national presence, Liberty Mutual serves millions of customers across the United States and beyond, offering a wide range of insurance products including auto, home, and life insurance. The company prides itself on fostering a supportive and inclusive workplace culture that values diversity, professional development, and community involvement.
The Field Property Claims Adjuster role at Liberty Mutual is a dynamic position designed for individuals who thrive in a fast-paced, ever-changing environment. This role requires traveling locally within Woodbury, New Jersey (08096) and surrounding areas to conduct on-site assessments of homeowner properties that have sustained damage. Acting as the frontline representative of Liberty Mutual, the adjuster is tasked with guiding policyholders through the claims process with empathy and professionalism, ensuring damages are accurately evaluated and claims are resolved efficiently.
This position offers a unique combination of fieldwork and customer interaction, where the adjuster visits homes in person to investigate physical damages, including accessing challenging areas such as roofs, attics, basements, and crawl spaces. The Field Property Claims Adjuster manages moderately complex to complex claims independently, from the first notice of loss through to final closure, often coordinating with vendor services like contractors and emergency repair teams.
Liberty Mutual provides a comprehensive 5-month training program to equip new hires with the skills and knowledge necessary to excel in this role. The training primarily consists of virtual and hands-on learning experiences, supplemented by two short in-person sessions at the Lewisville, Texas office. Employees are supported with mileage reimbursement and may have the opportunity to qualify for a company-provided vehicle based on mileage criteria.
Significantly, Liberty Mutual offers a sign-on bonus for experienced, licensed candidates, highlighting the company’s investment in attracting top talent for this critical role. The position’s compensation reflects a competitive starting salary range influenced by skills, experience, education, certifications, and geographic location, with opportunities for progression and additional earnings through bonus or commission structures.
Overall, this role is ideal for professionals with a solid understanding of claims handling, strong negotiation skills, and the ability to manage a diverse workload independently. Liberty Mutual emphasizes a culture of inclusion, comprehensive employee benefits, and work-life balance, making the Field Property Claims Adjuster position not only a job but a career opportunity that supports growth and success in the insurance field.
