This remote-based Field Application Specialist role is located within the Texas, Oklahoma, or Arkansas region and offers an exciting opportunity to contribute to Sartorius's mission by providing expert technical support and application knowledge to customers and the sales team. The Field Application Specialist will be responsible for supporting the successful design, validation, and implementation of Sartorius's products by assisting in product demonstrations, application development, and comprehensive customer training. The role requires close collaboration with product management to ensure optimized product design and effective positioning in the market.

This position involves domestic travel of 30-50% of the time and requires the ability to lift up to 49.9 pounds. A valid US driver's license is mandatory for this role. The specialist will play a crucial role in supporting sales initiatives by delivering product expertise, conducting application studies, and generating trial reports that contribute to product improvements based on customer feedback and market analysis. Additionally, the specialist will participate in quality complaints processes by troubleshooting and analyzing customer issues to facilitate resolution and continue product enhancements.

Job Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in biological engineering, biotechnology, or related life sciences field
  • Proven experience in a similar role within the life sciences industry
  • Ability to travel domestically 30-50% of the time
  • Valid US driver's license
  • Ability to lift up to 49.9 pounds intermittently
  • Strong communication and presentation skills
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office software
  • Residency within Texas, Oklahoma or Arkansas region

Job Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in biological engineering, biotechnology, or other life sciences-related field
  • Familiarity with life science application experiment technology and understanding of research topics
  • Proven experience in a similar position and industry is advantageous
  • Familiarity with related products, laboratory processes, and equipment

Job Duties

  • Support the sales organization on existing products through product presentations, demonstrations and application studies
  • Support new products in close collaboration with product management through beta site testing and demonstrations
  • Be responsible for the assigned product line to support sales target achievement in the defined territory
  • Support sales in the customer process and URS analysis, and generate application trials to help design optimized products
  • Provide technical support proactively, answer inquiries and resolve implementation problems in the field for customers
  • Support quality department in the quality complaint process by troubleshooting and analyzing customer processes
  • Collect, compile, verify and analyze data on product line performance and customer feedback to identify product changes
  • Report on competitors' products and feedback information to management teams
  • Provide basic product training to internal sales and dealers, and run external customer workshops and seminars
  • Conduct trials and demos to achieve intended results and create trial reports
  • Collaborate with interfaces to define the scope and acceptance criteria of trials and build professional trial reports
  • Domestic travel 30-50%
  • Ability to lift 49.9 pounds on a semi-regular basis
  • Valid US driver's license
