The current opportunity at CCMS & Associates is for a 1099 Field Adjuster position located specifically in the Bakersfield area of California. This role is part of the company’s effort to expand its team of skilled professionals. The ideal candidate will be a residential or commercial field adjuster with at least one year of first-party commercial and/or residential property field adjusting experience. The position requires proficiency with estimating software, preferably Xactimate, with experience in Symbility regarded as an advantage. Candidates must have access to a reliable computer with internet access and be proficient in Microsoft Word. Strong time management and customer service skills are essential, alongside the ability to prepare detailed claim documents including Statements of Loss, Proof of Loss, and denial letters.
The field adjuster will be responsible for conducting comprehensive residential and commercial field property inspections using Xactimate software. This includes investigating claims by obtaining recorded statements from various parties such as insureds, claimants, witnesses, and government officials, as well as physically inspecting damages. The adjuster will also be expected to recommend claim reserves based on their findings, supported by well-documented reserve reports. Additional duties involve obtaining and interpreting official reports, reviewing coverage forms and endorsements, and providing thorough analyses of coverage and related issues. Compliance with established best practices is necessary to maintain high-quality outcomes.
Candidates are recommended to hold a California State adjuster’s license, although it is not mandatory. A valid driver’s license is required to fulfill travel and inspection duties. The role demands promptness, reliability, and a friendly demeanor. Preferred but not required qualifications include a college degree and professional designations such as AIC, IICRC, or HAAG certifications. All applicants must pass a full background check, except in states where it is legally prohibited. Job Requirements

Job Duties
- Complete residential and commercial field property inspections utilizing Xactimate software
- Investigate claims by obtaining recorded statements from insureds, claimants, or witnesses and by interviewing fire, police, or other governmental officials as well as inspecting claimed damages
- Recommend claim reserves based on investigation, through well-supported reserve report
- Obtain and interpret official reports
- Review applicable coverage forms and endorsements, provide a thorough analysis of coverage and any coverage issues in a well-documented initial captioned report to the client
- Maintain acceptable product quality through compliance with established best practices
