The role of Fast Food Attendant (FFA) is a pivotal position within the operations team, reporting directly to the Concept Manager. This non-exempt role involves engaging directly with customers and supporting the overall functioning of the fast food establishment. The Fast Food Attendant carries out a variety of responsibilities that balance customer service, food preparation support, and maintaining cleanliness and order within the workspace. This role is crucial in creating a positive dining experience for guests by ensuring prompt service, accurate transactions, and high standards of food safety and sanitation.

The Fast Food Attendant will greet customers warmly, take food orders efficiently, and provide helpful information about menu items with a view toward enhancing sales through up-selling opportunities. Handling all customer transactions accurately and in compliance with cash handling policies is an essential component of this position. The attendant will also maintain a clean and well-stocked environment by regularly cleaning work areas, stocking supplies, and ensuring that all food products are handled, labeled, dated, and stored according to safety regulations.

Job Requirements

  • H.S. diploma or equivalent
  • previous cashier experience preferred
  • reliable and punctual
  • ability to handle cash and use cash register
  • good communication skills
  • physical ability to stand long periods and lift up to 35 pounds
  • willingness to work flexible shifts including weekends and holidays

Job Qualifications

  • H.S. diploma or equivalent
  • cashier experience in a food and beverage environment highly desirable
  • excellent guest service abilities while working directly with the public
  • basic mathematics skills with the ability to add, subtract, multiply, or divide quickly and correctly
  • able to develop cooperative working relationships with others
  • able to stand for long periods of time

Job Duties

  • Greets customers and takes food order
  • provides information about menus
  • looks for opportunity to up-sell products
  • operates cash register and receives payment from customer in cash or credit card
  • accurately counts and provides change to customers as required
  • follows all Areas Guest Experience and cash handling policies and procedures
  • cleans and stocks work area
  • assists in locating, reconciling, and verifying the accuracy of transactions and operating equipment with peripheral electronic data processing
  • transfers supplies and equipment between storage and work areas by hand or cart
  • assists with a variety of kitchen-related functions as needed including product assembly and food prep
  • receives inventory, moves, and lifts food and beverage products and supplies
  • maintains a solid knowledge of product and services available in unit
  • ensure proper food handling procedures are followed including wrapping, labeling, dating, stocking, storing, rotating, and checking temperature of products
  • cleans and sanitizes workstation and equipment
