Job Requirements
- Must be 18 years or older
- Must be able to physically perform medium work by exerting up to 50 pounds of force occasionally and 20 pounds frequently
- Ability to perform physical activities such as climbing, balancing, stooping, kneeling, reaching, standing, walking, pulling, lifting, grasping, feeling, talking, hearing, and repetitive motions
- Must adhere to department and company guidelines related to personal hygiene and dress
- Ability to work in a fast-paced environment with exposure to temperature extremes, dampness, cleaning chemicals and solvents
- Must successfully complete pre-employment drug screen
Job Qualifications
- No education or experience requirements
- Ability to solve practical problems with limited standardization
- Ability to do arithmetic calculations involving fractions, decimals, and percentages
- Ability to file, post, mail materials and guide people by providing basic direction

Job Duties
- Provides prompt, efficient and friendly customer service by exhibiting caring, concern and patience in all customer interactions and treating customers as the most important people in the store
- Smiles and greets customers in a friendly manner whether the encounter takes place in the employee’s designated department or elsewhere in the store
- Makes an effort to learn customers’ names and address them by name whenever possible
- Assists customers by escorting them to products they’re looking for, securing products that are out of reach, loading or unloading heavy items, making note of and passing along customer suggestions or requests, and performing other tasks to enhance the shopping experience
- Answers the telephone promptly and provides friendly, helpful service
- Works with co-workers as a team to ensure customer satisfaction and a pleasant work environment
- Operates cash register accurately and scans products, redeeming promotional coupons, food stamps, cash, checks, credit card transactions and completes necessary calculations
- Places merchandise in bags or boxes and gives packages to customers
- Assists with inventory, receives delivered merchandise and stocks shelves
- Maintains cleanliness of the store, including shoveling sidewalks, spreading ice melt, and removing trash
- Ensures proper sanitation procedures are followed and work areas are clean and neat
- Adheres to company policies and reports to work on time
