This particular opportunity is for an on-call Food & Beverage Utility Porter position at the Luxor, one of MGM's flagship hotels in Las Vegas. As a utility porter, you play a critical role in supporting the smooth operation of the kitchen by maintaining cleanliness, organization, and sanitary conditions. Your responsibilities will include ensuring that cooking equipment and kitchenware are cleaned, sanitized, and stored properly. You will assist with the movement of supplies and equipment within the property, and uphold all health, safety, and sanitation policies required by the Southern Nevada Health District (SNHD), Occupational Safety and Health Administration (OSHA), Fire Department, and company procedures.
The starting pay rate for this position is $24.7819 per hour. This role offers an exciting environment where attention to detail and teamwork are essential, and it is vital to support the culinary teams by keeping the workplace efficient and compliant with hygiene standards. Whether cleaning floors, polishing equipment, or handling biohazard waste, you will ensure the kitchen operates seamlessly behind the scenes. Operating industrial equipment such as floor scrubbers, pallet jacks, forklifts, and power washers is also part of the daily routine. The job requires completing health and safety training and promptly reporting equipment issues, which helps maintain a safe and productive environment.
MGM Resorts encourages hiring individuals who are energetic, team-oriented, and driven by contributing to an industry rich with excitement and innovation. This on-call position provides flexibility and an opportunity to work in one of the entertainment capitals of the world while gaining valuable experience in hospitality and kitchen operations. Candidates who have prior stewarding or culinary training experience, or who hold food handler certifications, are preferred. Effective communication skills in English are necessary to ensure smooth coordination with team members and supervisors.
Ultimately, this role at MGM Resorts International is a chance to be part of a globally recognized organization that values employee wellness and professional development while offering numerous perks and benefits. By joining the show at Luxor, you become an essential member of a community dedicated to excellence in service delivery and operational efficiency within a fast-paced and iconic hospitality setting.
