The role available is that of a Food & Beverage Supervisor at the Courtyard Amarillo located at 8006 I-40 West, Amarillo, TX 79106. This position is hourly compensated and is integral to the successful management and supervision of all property food and beverage operations including both front-of-house and back-of-house teams. The Food & Beverage Supervisor plays a critical role in ensuring the profitability of the Food & Beverage department by maintaining stringent quality standards for products and service while fostering a positive team environment that promotes high employee retention and customer satisfaction.

This position involves daily coordination of personnel, budget management, complaint resolution, and regular communication with the Food & Beverage Manager to promptly address issues and optimize department performance. The supervisor is responsible for monitoring current industry trends to maintain competitive operations and overseeing compliance with local liquor laws, health and sanitation regulations, and departmental SOPs (Standard Operating Procedures). Additional duties include organizing team meetings and training sessions, inventory management, menu planning collaboration, loss prevention, and maintaining a safe and pleasant dining experience for guests and staff alike.

The ideal candidate should have at least three years of progressive experience in a hotel or related setting, or equivalent academic qualifications paired with relevant work experience. Proficiency in Windows OS, spreadsheets, and word processing is essential alongside a sound knowledge of food preparation, health department standards, and liquor regulations. Strong communication skills and the ability to multitask and handle dynamic work situations are vital. The role requires physical endurance to occasionally exert up to 50 pounds of force for lifting or moving objects and a consistent commitment to a high standard of appearance and professionalism.

Job Requirements

  • At least 3 years progressive experience in hotel or related field
  • or 4-year college degree and 3 years related experience
  • or 2-year college degree and 4 or more years related experience
  • Proficient in Windows, company approved spreadsheets and word processing
  • Knowledge of F&B preparation techniques, health department rules and regulations, liquor laws and regulations
  • Ability to exert medium work - lifting up to 50 pounds occasionally
  • Effective verbal and written communication skills
  • Ability to listen, understand and clarify concerns of employees and guests
  • Ability to multitask and meet departmental deadlines

Job Qualifications

Job Duties

  • Supervise and manage all F&B personnel
  • Respond to guest complaints in a timely manner
  • Participate in F&B budget, forecasting and monitor department performance
  • Monitor industry trends and take appropriate action to maintain competitive and profitable operations
  • Coordinate and monitor all phases of Loss Prevention in the F&B department
  • Prepare and submit required reports in a timely manner
  • Participate in department monthly, quarterly, annual inventories
  • Organize and conduct department meetings on a regular basis
  • Monitor quality of service and product
  • Cooperate in menu planning and preparation
  • Ensure timely purchase of F&B items, within budget allocation
  • Oversee operations of the employee cafeteria
  • Ensure compliance with all local liquor laws, and health and sanitation regulations
  • Ensure departmental compliance with SOP’s
  • Ensure training on SOP’s, report preparation, technical job tasks
  • Interview candidates for front-of-house and back-of-the house F&B positions
  • Conduct and/or attend all required meetings
  • Ensure overall guest satisfaction
