Job Requirements

  • High school diploma or equivalent
  • At least 3 years of related experience or relevant college degree
  • Proficiency with computer software including spreadsheets and word processing
  • Strong knowledge of food and beverage service, health and safety regulations
  • Ability to work long hours and lift/move up to 50 pounds
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills
  • Ability to multitask and manage priorities effectively
  • Maintain a friendly, courteous, and service-oriented demeanor
  • Attend hotel-required meetings and trainings regularly
  • Ability to maintain confidentiality and handle sensitive information
  • Compliance with company policies and standards

Job Qualifications

  • At least 3 years of progressive experience in hotel or related field or a 4-year college degree with 3 years related experience or a 2-year college degree with 4 or more years related experience
  • Proficient in Windows and company-approved spreadsheets and word processing
  • Knowledge of food and beverage preparation techniques, health department rules, liquor laws and regulations
  • Effective verbal and written communication skills
  • Ability to listen, understand, and clarify concerns
  • Ability to multitask and prioritize
  • Service-oriented and courteous approach towards guests and employees
  • Ability to handle complex information and maintain confidentiality
  • Ability to work long hours and perform medium physical work
  • Attendance at required meetings and trainings
  • Effective in problem-solving and productivity enhancement

Job Duties

  • Be attentive, friendly, helpful, and courteous to guests, managers, and employees
  • Supervise and manage all food and beverage personnel
  • Respond to guest complaints timely
  • Participate in food and beverage budget, forecasting, and performance monitoring
  • Monitor industry trends and take actions to maintain profitability
  • Keep the F&B Manager informed on issues
  • Report problems requiring management attention promptly
  • Coordinate and monitor all aspects of loss prevention in F&B
  • Prepare and submit required reports on time
  • Participate in inventories and submit reports
  • Conduct regular department meetings
  • Monitor quality of service and product
  • Cooperate in menu planning and preparation
  • Ensure timely purchase of F&B items within budget
  • Oversee employee cafeteria operations
  • Ensure compliance with liquor laws, health and sanitation regulations
  • Ensure departmental compliance with standard operating procedures
  • Train staff on SOPs, reporting, and technical tasks
  • Attend and conduct departmental and hotel training
  • Interview and hire front and back-of-house F&B staff
  • Attend all required meetings including pre- and post-convention
  • Ensure overall guest satisfaction
