Job Description

The Food & Beverage Supervisor position is an essential role within the hospitality industry, particularly in establishments that offer restaurant, bar, and banquet services. Typically situated in hotels, resorts, or similar venues, the Food & Beverage Supervisor ensures that all daily operations run smoothly, providing guests with exceptional dining and service experiences in line with the specific standards and expectations set by the hotel or organization.

As a pivotal role within the food and beverage department, the Food & Beverage Supervisor is responsible for overseeing the daily activities of multiple outlets such as restaurants, bars, and room service operations. This role involves closely monitoring the service quality and operational flow to guarantee a seamless and satisfying guest experience. It requires strong attention to detail, effective communication, and the ability to manage a diverse team of front-of-house staff including servers, bartenders, hosts, and runners.

The position demands not only an in-depth understanding of daily food and beverage service operations but also a commitment to leadership and team development. Supervisors coach and support team members to excel in their roles, providing guidance on service techniques and ensuring adherence to hospitality standards. They conduct pre-shift briefings to set the day's priorities and foster a culture of professionalism and high-quality service delivery.

Financial management components of the role include overseeing sales, upselling opportunities, cost control practices, inventory management, and accurate handling of cash and POS systems. Supervisors assist with ordering and stock control to maintain efficient operations and reduce wastage.

Another critical responsibility is ensuring compliance with health, safety, and sanitation protocols. The Food & Beverage Supervisor enforces food safety regulations and maintains hygiene standards, creating a safe environment for both guests and staff. They also ensure that all operations align with hotel policies and applicable local laws.

Coordination and communication are vital in this role, as Food & Beverage Supervisors work closely with kitchen teams, front office staff, and events or banquet teams. They provide support for group events, airline crews, and special functions to make certain that these occasions run flawlessly.

Ultimately, the Food & Beverage Supervisor plays a key role in enhancing the overall guest experience by delivering high standards of food and beverage service. The position is ideal for candidates with a passion for hospitality, leadership capabilities, and a hands-on approach to solving operational challenges. This role offers an exciting opportunity to contribute to a dynamic team, uphold excellent service standards, and foster a positive working environment within the food and beverage department.
