The part-time Food & Beverage Server role at Horseshoe Casino Hammond is an exciting opportunity for individuals who thrive in fast-paced environments and enjoy providing exceptional customer service. This position is centered around taking and delivering food and beverage orders efficiently while maintaining strict adherence to service and safety standards. The successful candidate will be well-versed in the product knowledge of menu items, wines, and basic liquors, enabling them to offer informed recommendations and enhance the guest experience. Operating the POS system accurately and managing payments is also a crucial part of this role. The shift schedule is varied and includes weekends and holidays, offering flexibility and the chance to work in a lively casino dining atmosphere. This position pays an hourly rate of $6.25 plus tips, reflecting the opportunity to earn additional income based on performance and guest satisfaction.

Job Requirements

  • Must be 21 years of age or older
  • Ability to describe menu items and basic wine and liquor knowledge sufficient to suggest and present wine tableside and garnish beverages
  • Ability to operate POS, accept and reconcile payments
  • Professional guest service skills and ability to work varied shifts including weekends and holidays

Job Duties

  • Comply with all policies and procedures of company and department
  • Maintain the highest standard of professionalism when interacting with guests and co-workers
  • Have complete product knowledge, be able to describe all menu items, have basic wine knowledge, be able to suggest and present wine tableside, have basic liquor knowledge and able to garnish all beverages
  • Take and deliver food and beverage orders and follow/maintain all service standards
  • Ring items into POS, accept payment and reconcile all payments
  • Make specific suggestions and recommendations to increase guest check average
  • Follow all safety procedures and maintain work area for a clean and safe environment
