The Renaissance Des Moines Savery Hotel is currently seeking a dynamic, experienced, and motivated individual to join their team as a Food and Beverage Manager. This role is crucial to maintaining the exceptional standards of the hotel’s food and beverage outlets, which include a restaurant, bar, room service, and club lounge. The successful candidate will oversee daily operations to ensure seamless service delivery, quality, and profitability. This position requires someone with excellent organizational and communication skills, a strong ability to multitask, and exceptional hospitality and guest service capabilities.

As Food and Beverage Manager, you will be responsible for managing front-of-house staff by hiring, training, and supervising servers, bartenders, and baristas. You will also be expected to maintain high guest service standards, monitor inventory and place orders for beverages and supplies, and manage budgets to control costs and maximize profitability. Safety and compliance with health and sanitation regulations are paramount, along with creating promotional strategies and events designed to boost sales and engage customers. Handling guest concerns with professionalism and care is also a vital aspect of the role, ensuring the dining environment remains clean, organized, and welcoming.

Job Requirements

  • 3 plus years of experience supervising in food and beverage or hospitality leadership
  • Strong knowledge of restaurant operations bar service and customer service best practices
  • Leadership skills with the ability to motivate and manage a team
  • Must be available for weekends holidays and pm shifts
  • Excellent communication and problem-solving abilities
  • Familiarity with point-of-sale systems and scheduling software
  • Certifications in food safety and responsible alcohol service preferred
  • Must have a comprehensive knowledge of the English language to effectively communicate with guests associates and vendors
  • Minimum lifting of 50 pounds
  • Pushing bending stooping upward reaching and manual dexterity
  • Hearing writing typing
  • Minimum pulling of 50 pounds
  • Other duties may be assigned

Job Duties

  • Manage daily operations of the food and beverage outlets including the restaurant bar room service and club lounge
  • Hire train and supervise front-of-house staff including servers bartenders and baristas
  • Ensure exceptional guest service standards are met or exceeded
  • Monitor inventory levels and place orders for beverage and supplies as needed
  • Manage budgets control costs and analyze financial reports to maximize profitability
  • Enforce health safety and sanitation regulations
  • Develop promotional strategies and events to increase sales and customer engagement
  • Handle guest concerns or complaints with professionalism and care
  • Maintain a clean organized and welcoming dining environment
  • Increase the level of guest satisfaction by delivering an exceptional product through employee development
