Job Description
The Edgewater Hotel is a renowned hotel located in Seattle, Washington, famed for its unique location on the waterfront with stunning views of Elliott Bay, the Olympic Mountains, and the Seattle skyline. Established originally for the 1962 World's Fair, The Edgewater has become a historic landmark and a cultural icon, having hosted numerous famous music personalities including The Beatles and Blondie. This hotel is part of the Noble House Hotels & Resorts collection, which emphasizes individuality, distinction, and a soulful approach to hospitality, reflecting these values across all its team members and guests. The hotel combines classic Pacific Northwest aesthetics with eco-friendly practices, showcasing aluminum exteriors, natural wood interiors, and river-rock fireplaces that offer guests an authentic and memorable experience. The Edgewater Hotel prides itself on blending luxury with a warm, inviting atmosphere that appeals both to locals and tourists alike.
The role of Gift Shop/Barista Attendant at The Edgewater Hotel is an exciting opportunity to be part of a dynamic and engaging boutique environment within the hotel. This role encompasses a mix of retail and hospitality responsibilities in the hotel's eco-chic gift shop that features an assortment of local crafts, organic apparel, collectible memorabilia such as Beatles and rock-n-roll items, and Seattle-themed souvenirs. The shop also serves high-quality Espresso and Coffee by Zoka, creating a unique fusion of retail and café service. The attendant will be responsible for managing sales transactions, performing barista duties, assisting guests throughout the store, handling merchandise stocking and tagging, and providing helpful information about both the hotel and the local Seattle area. This role requires someone who is detail-oriented, capable of multitasking efficiently under pressure, and passionate about delivering excellent customer service.
Working hours are flexible, making it suitable for individuals who can adapt to varied scheduling needs. The hourly rate for this position is competitive at $26.75 per hour, which reflects the value the hotel places on delivering quality service. The Edgewater Hotel also offers outstanding benefits to support its employees, including comprehensive medical, dental, and vision coverage for individuals and families, paid holidays, personal, vacation, and sick leave, and discounted valet parking services. Uniforms are provided along with complimentary dry cleaning, and attendants enjoy complimentary meals during paid breaks. Additional employee perks include a bus pass reimbursement program that covers 50% of bus and ferry transportation costs, travel discounts for hotels and restaurants nationwide, and participation in recognition programs offering gift cards, incentives, and opportunities for career growth.
The Edgewater Hotel fosters a workplace culture centered on individuality and collective spirit, emphasizing fun and personal expression as part of its core values. This role is ideal for motivated, friendly individuals who thrive in fast-paced environments and enjoy engaging with a diverse clientele. By joining The Edgewater team as a Gift Shop/Barista Attendant, candidates will contribute to an enriching guest experience that combines boutique shopping with specialty coffee service, while working in one of Seattle's most iconic and historic hotels.
