Within this dynamic environment, the Retail Food and Beverage General Manager I role represents a critical leadership position responsible for overseeing the operational success of a Quick Service Restaurant (QSR) or a small cluster of restaurants generating up to $5 million in annual sales. This leadership role is essential for maintaining the balance between financial performance, brand standards compliance, employee engagement, and delivering outstanding customer experiences.The Retail F&B General Manager I is entrusted with the full breadth of operational functions—ranging from workforce management, budget control, and vendor relationships to staff development and customer service excellence. The position involves a blend of strategic decision-making and hands-on management, including ensuring opening and closing procedures are executed correctly, managing workforce scheduling and shift planning, interviewing and hiring staff, coaching and mentoring team members, and fostering a culture of diversity and engagement. The General Manager also takes full profit and loss (P&L) responsibility, analyzing operational and financial reports to implement actionable strategies that maximize revenue and profitability.This position requires a proactive approach towards maintaining operational efficiency, which includes overseeing ordering and receiving processes, coordinating with vendors, ensuring equipment functionality, minimizing waste, and supporting community-oriented programs like food donations. The General Manager is also responsible for compliance with brand standards, contractual agreements, and regulatory requirements. They spearhead marketing initiatives and promotional activities to drive customer engagement and sales growth.Furthermore, the role demands thorough training programs to maintain high skill levels across the team, embracing technological advancements such as POS and inventory management systems to streamline operations. Job Requirements
- Minimum 5–7 years of restaurant management experience
- At least 3 years of P&L management experience
- Degree in Food Service Management or Culinary program may substitute for experience
- Proficiency in restaurant management systems and POS platforms
- Ability to interpret financial reports and KPIs
- Knowledge of food safety regulations and compliance standards
- Strong leadership and delegation skills
- Excellent problem-solving and communication abilities
- Ability to manage multiple priorities
- Reports to Director of Operations or designated area leader
- Exempt (FLSA) classification
- Ability to work varied schedule including opening, peak, and closing shifts
