The AAA Four Diamond JW Marriott Savannah Plant Riverside District is one of Kessler Hospitality's premier properties located in the heart of historic Savannah on the scenic Savannah riverfront. The hotel offers guests a rich blend of history, culture, and modern luxury. Positioned near downtown Savannah's shopping district, the hotel provides easy access to a variety of activities including dining at its multiple restaurants, enjoying riverside bars, and exploring local walking tours. The property itself is a vibrant entertainment district featuring three distinct buildings with unique architectural and design themes. The Power Plant building reflects chic industrial architecture; The Three Muses offers romantic styling while the Atlantic building evokes maritime heritage. Guests can also unwind at the hotel’s luxurious spa or experience the energetic nightlife.
The Assistant Food & Beverage (F&B) Manager role at JW Marriott Savannah Plant Riverside District is responsible for assisting in the coordination, supervision, and management of all aspects of the F&B outlet operations. This position plays a critical role in maintaining a profitable operation while upholding high-quality product standards and exceptional service levels. The Assistant F&B Manager develops and markets ideas to promote business growth, reduces employee turnover, maintains revenue targets and payroll budgets, and ensures productivity aligns with budget expectations without compromising quality.
The role requires a hands-on approach with a visible presence on the floor to assist staff during all meal periods and foster guest satisfaction. Responsibilities include supervising outlet personnel, managing guest complaints efficiently, coordinating with other F&B managers, and ensuring compliance with local liquor laws, health and sanitation standards, and internal SOPs. Preparing and submitting required operational reports such as payroll, schedules, revenue, and action plans are essential tasks of this role.
Additionally, the Assistant F&B Manager assists in menu planning, enforces loss prevention measures, participates in training and development programs, interviews front-of-house staff candidates, conducts performance reviews, and implements corporate promotions as applicable. This leadership role demands effective communication with all levels of employees and guests, strong multitasking capabilities, and an unwavering commitment to hospitality excellence. Candidates must be prepared to work long hours and participate in management coverage as required, all while maintaining a professional appearance and embodying the courteous and service-oriented values of Kessler Hospitality.

Job Requirements
- At least 2 years of progressive experience in a hotel or a related field
- or a 4-year college degree
- or a 2-year college degree and 1 or more years of related experience
- Long hours sometimes required
- Medium work exerting up to 50 pounds of force occasionally
- Ability to communicate effectively with all levels of employees and guests
- Ability to multitask and prioritize departmental functions
- Attend all required meetings and trainings
- Maintain regular attendance as per Highgate Hotel standards
- Maintain high standards of personal appearance and grooming
- Comply with Highgate Hotel standards and regulations
- Ability to handle problems proactively and maintain confidentiality
- Perform other duties as requested by management
- Maintain a warm and friendly demeanor at all times
Job Qualifications
- At least 2 years of progressive experience in a hotel or related field
- 4-year college degree preferred or 2-year degree with related experience
- Effective verbal and written communication skills
- Ability to multitask and prioritize departmental functions
- Experience in guest service and staff supervision
- Ability to maintain confidentiality
- Strong problem-solving skills
