Job Description
Seattle Sounders FC and Seattle Reign FC are two renowned professional soccer clubs based in Seattle, Washington, with a shared vision of growth, inclusivity, and excellence both on and off the pitch. Together, they form a united soccer family committed to pushing the boundaries of what is possible in the realm of sports and community engagement. Both clubs boast a rich history of captivating performances and have established deep and meaningful connections with their local communities. The organizations emphasize fostering a culture of inclusivity, resilience, and professionalism, while championing causes that matter and building expansive community networks. Each matchday serves as more than just a sporting event—it is a celebration of the community's strength, diversity, and shared passion for soccer.
The Fan Engagement Associate is a critical role within the Impact & Fan Engagement department, reporting directly to the Senior Manager of Matchday Experiences. This part-time position, lasting from May through December 2026, requires approximately 25 hours per week with an hourly wage of $22.00. As a non-exempt role, it offers a dynamic and engaging work environment suited for individuals passionate about live events and fan interaction. The role centers around supporting the planning and execution of matchday fan experiences and community activations for both Seattle Sounders FC and Seattle Reign FC.
The ideal candidate thrives in fast-paced, live event ecosystems and is energized by direct engagement with fans. They need to be proactive, adaptable, and capable of making sound decisions under pressure while effectively managing multiple priorities that may evolve rapidly throughout matchdays or events. This role is ideal for someone with an energetic and hands-on approach, who can act as an on-site point of contact, demonstrating sound judgment and a problem-solving mindset, while maintaining alignment with the club's core values such as being an Extraordinary Communicator, Trusted Teammate, and displaying grit.
This position involves assisting with the coordination of various fan-facing activations including pre-match events, mascot performances, and street team activities in the greater Seattle community. Coordination extends to managing logistics such as load-in and load-out operations, filing necessary documentation, and working closely with matchday performers and community groups. The role demands strong organizational skills and the ability to work collaboratively across departments such as Partnership Marketing, Ticketing, the RAVE Foundation, and People and Culture to ensure seamless execution of community events.
Moreover, the Fan Engagement Associate will serve as a welcoming presence on matchdays, representing the Fan Engagement team and fostering a positive experience for fans and community stakeholders. They will lead events at key venues such as the Providence Swedish Performance Center and the Clubhouse, track participation data to assess the impact of activations, contribute ideas during team meetings, and maintain event supplies and inventory at Lumen Field and other facilities.
This role requires physical readiness to work outdoors, stand for long periods, and occasionally lift equipment up to 20 pounds. It also demands a flexible schedule, including availability during office hours, evenings, weekends, and holidays. All candidates must reside in Washington state at the time of hire and be eligible to work in the US without sponsorship. The club is committed to diversity, equity, and inclusion and encourages candidates from all backgrounds to apply, valuing relevant experience and the potential to contribute to a best-in-class workplace culture.
