This position involves overseeing the entire event lifecycle, from conceptualization to delivery, ensuring that every event provides a world-class experience to attendees, vendors, and staff alike. The manager works closely with cross-functional teams, including engineering, content creators, marketing, and human resources, to create seamless event journeys both online and offline. A significant component of the role includes managing the global content database and the publication schedule tied to RootsTech and other educational initiatives throughout the year.\n\nIn addition, the Events Experience Manager directs staffing strategy for RootsTech and other events, aligning recruitment and training efforts with departmental goals to build a skilled and motivated event team. They assume full responsibility for customer service operations related to event communications, handling email inquiries, feedback surveys, and website responses to maintain high levels of satisfaction and engagement. This manager coordinates with research teams to gather and analyze feedback to drive continuous improvement in event offerings. Budget management is another key aspect, requiring strategic allocation and monitoring of publishing and operational funds to maximize efficiency and impact. The role also entails liaising with vendors to ensure top-quality event services and solutions that align with organizational standards.\n\nIdeal candidates for this position possess at least 8 years of experience in corporate or professional event management, demonstrating expertise in strategic planning, logistical coordination, and experience design. A bachelor’s degree is required, preferably in business management, marketing, communications, event management or related disciplines, with a master’s degree considered an asset. Job Duties

  • Partner with engineering resources to establish and maintain online audience journeys
  • manage the global content database and publication plan for the annual RootsTech Conference and year-round learning
  • direct strategic planning around event staffing for RootsTech and other events in coordination with FamilySearch human resources
  • oversee all customer service functions including email, survey feedback and website feedback
  • coordinate feedback gathering through the research team’s annual surveys
  • manage, empower, and build the capabilities of an internal team of event staff
  • ensure strategic and effective use of publishing and operational budgets
  • work with key vendors that help support event experiences
