The role of Family & Community Engagement Coordinator is a full-time position designed for someone passionate about making a meaningful difference within the community. With a salary range of $21.00 to $27.50 per hour based on education, experience, qualifications, and skills, this position offers excellent earning potential in a nonprofit setting. As a Family & Community Engagement Coordinator, you will be responsible for developing and implementing strategies that strengthen the relationships between the Boys & Girls Club of Chicopee, its members, their families, and the broader community. You will serve as a key liaison connecting the Club with volunteers, community partners, local schools, businesses, civic organizations, and the general public. Your role will involve coordinating volunteer recruitment, orientation, scheduling, and recognition, as well as managing the Club’s social media presence and overseeing facility rentals.

Another pivotal aspect of your job is leading the Club on Wheels, a mobile program that brings the Club experience directly to the community. You will ensure the safe operation of the program’s vehicle, organize engaging activities, coordinate with community partners, and maintain a safe environment for youth and families. Your dedication to youth safety and professional development through ongoing training will be crucial to your success in this role.

Given the dynamic nature of the position, flexibility is essential as you will work a typical schedule of about 35 hours per week with regular evening and weekend commitments. Job Requirements

  • associates degree or equivalent experience
  • minimum three years relevant education, training, or experience preferred
  • experience with youth organizations preferred
  • computer literacy including Microsoft Office and social media
  • strong leadership and communication skills

  • suitability after background checks
  • age 21 or older
  • valid driver’s license with clean driving record
  • compliance with background checks

Job Qualifications

  • associates degree required or a minimum of three years equivalent combination of education, training and experience in a non-profit organization preferred
  • experience working with youth organizations preferred
  • computer literacy including Microsoft Office Suite and social media platforms
  • excellent leadership, organization, interpersonal, and communication skills both oral and written
  • ability to deal with the general public
  • maintain a high energy level
  • comfortable performing multi-faceted projects
  • must be deemed suitable after initial and subsequent Background Record Checks
  • must be 21 years or older
  • valid driver's license with a clean driving record meeting the organization's insurance and vehicle operation requirements
  • willingness to comply with company policy regarding background checks

Job Duties

  • plan, implement, and oversee family and community engagement initiatives
  • serve as the primary liaison between the Club, volunteers, community partners, schools, and the public
  • develop and maintain partnerships with local schools, businesses, civic organizations, and community agencies
  • coordinate volunteer recruitment, orientation, scheduling, and recognition
