As the Operations Supervisor at Fairfield Inn Austin South, you will play a pivotal role in ensuring the efficient and smooth operation of the hotel. Reporting to the General Manager or assigned Hotel Leadership, this position involves overseeing various back-of-house operational departments such as Housekeeping, Food and Beverage, Front Office, and Banquets according to the hotel's needs. Your leadership will be essential in maintaining high standards of guest satisfaction and operational excellence. This role requires a dynamic individual capable of managing diverse teams, handling guest and employee concerns effectively, and supporting the hotel in meeting and exceeding service expectations.

You will be responsible for supervising operational tasks and coordinating with multiple departments to ensure seamless functionality. This includes addressing VIP and special guest requests, maintaining communications and teamwork among associates, monitoring financial transactions such as cash overages and shortages, assisting in employee scheduling, and conducting training for new and existing employees. Furthermore, this role demands a proactive approach to emergency procedures, inventories, problem resolution, and maintaining compliance with Aimbridge Hospitality standards.

The successful candidate will possess strong communication skills, the ability to work well under pressure, and a sound judgment for handling emergencies or guest disputes. You will also be expected to uphold the hotel’s reputation through consistently professional conduct and by demonstrating a high level of trust and responsibility. Job Requirements

Job Qualifications

  • At least 2 to 3 years of progressive experience in a hotel or related field

Job Duties

  • Approach all encounters with guests and associates in a friendly, service-oriented manner
  • maintain regular attendance in compliance with Aimbridge Hospitality standards as required by scheduling
  • maintain high standards of personal appearance and grooming including proper uniform and name tag
  • maintain a friendly and warm demeanor at all times
  • comply with Aimbridge Hospitality standards and regulations to encourage safe and efficient hotel operations
  • establish and maintain good communications and teamwork with fellow associates and other departments
  • monitor all VIP and special guest requests and be familiar with all in-house groups
  • fully comprehend and execute all relevant phases of the front desk computer system and checklist
  • be familiar with PMS system used in the hotel
  • monitor and follow up on all servers/baristas/bartenders’ cash overages and shortages as applicable
  • follow and enforce all Aimbridge Hospitality policies
  • ensure employees are attentive, friendly, helpful, and courteous
  • assist in preparation of staff schedules according to business forecast
  • assist food and beverage, front desk, and housekeeping departments based on volume and need
  • assist in training new hires and current associates regularly
  • assist the FOM in ensuring associates maintain Aimbridge standards including answering phones and guest request logs
  • be familiar with emergency procedures and able to react appropriately
  • assist in monthly inventories and reconciliations
  • immediately follow up on accidents, problems, or guest complaints in food and beverage and front desk areas
  • answer all guest inquiries in a timely and professional manner
  • help maintain productivity levels at or above budgeted standards
  • perform other duties and attend meetings or training as required by management
  • maintain access to back of house areas and handle sensitive information securely
  • demonstrate ability to handle cash, prepare and deposit cash drops, and balance bank
  • interact with guests and colleagues occasionally unsupervised
  • access and control sensitive hotel areas including hotel safe, master keys, guestrooms, storage/liquor room, and secured file cabinets
  • drive safely on behalf of the company
