Job Description

Scholastic is a renowned publishing and educational company dedicated to fostering a love of reading and learning among children worldwide. Established with a mission to promote literacy and inspire young minds, Scholastic has become a trusted name in schools, libraries, and homes by providing quality books, educational materials, and innovative programs. One of the company’s hallmark initiatives is the Scholastic Book Fairs, a vibrant in-person event hosted by schools that brings books directly to students, creating an engaging and empowering experience. These fairs not only encourage children to discover new books and develop reading habits, but they also serve as a community gathering point where students, parents, educators, and caregivers come together around the shared goal of supporting student literacy and education.

Scholastic is currently seeking motivated Sales Consultants and Event Coordinators to join their team and help expand their bestselling Book Fair programs. This role is a unique blend of sales and event coordination, providing a terrific opportunity to build a meaningful career in education sales while directly impacting children’s literacy development. Employed on a full-time, hourly basis with a competitive pay range of $22 - $26 per hour, these positions come with various benefits including medical, dental and vision insurance, paid time off, 50% discount on Scholastic merchandise, a 401k with a company match, and potentially having summers off. The anticipated start date for the upcoming training cohort is August 31, 2026.

As a Sales Consultant and Event Coordinator, you will be responsible for managing a defined territory with a portfolio of school accounts. Your primary objectives will include driving new fair bookings, maximizing the revenue and performance of each fair, and building strong, long-term partnerships with schools. The role requires exceptional organization, strong project management skills, and the ability to thrive in a fast-paced environment with tight deadlines. You will be tasked with influencing customer decisions, managing pipelines, executing events that generate excellent customer experiences, and consistently meeting or exceeding sales and performance metrics. Your work will help ensure that every book fair is a win-win event, generating financial success for the schools and bringing joy and literacy resources to students.

Working remotely, you will collaborate closely with cross-functional teams while managing a busy schedule of outreach, booking, and event execution. This position is ideal for individuals who are passionate about education, enjoy building relationships and influence customer outcomes, and seek to contribute to meaningful educational results. Joining Scholastic means becoming part of an inclusive, mission-driven organization committed to diversity, equity, and inclusion. You will have the chance to develop professionally through a supportive environment that fosters learning and advancement. By taking on this role, you can actively support the growth of young readers and the educational success of schools in your territory, making a positive difference in communities across Florida and beyond.
