Founded on the principle that books have the power to transform young lives, Scholastic has become a trusted name in classrooms, libraries, and homes across the United States and worldwide. As a company, Scholastic specializes in providing educational materials, books, and digital resources designed to engage students, support educators, and promote literacy development at all levels. Celebrated for its dedication to enriching children's educational experiences, Scholastic continually innovates to meet the evolving needs of schools and families through its diverse range of products and programs.

The role of Sales Consultant and Event Coordinator within Scholastic Book Fairs represents an exciting opportunity to contribute directly to this mission by helping schools build stronger readers. This position focuses on expanding and growing the Book Fair programs that bring communities together around a shared love of books and literacy. This role uniquely blends sales expertise with event leadership, requiring professionals who can successfully close business, foster long-term customer relationships, and execute high-quality, engaging book fairs. Each fair is a dynamic in-person event designed to inspire children to explore books and develop lifelong reading habits. As part of the Scholastic Book Fairs team, you will be instrumental in coaching school hosts on strategies to increase traffic, engagement, and sales while recommending programs and promotions that enhance the overall fair experience.

The Sales Consultant position is hourly, with a base rate ranging from $22 to $26 per hour, and offers the potential for additional earnings through seasonal and annual sales incentives. This full-time, remote/home-based role demands exceptional organizational and project management skills, the ability to thrive under tight deadlines, and a passion for contributing to educational outcomes. Employees enjoy a comprehensive benefits package including medical, dental, and vision coverage, a generous paid time off program encompassing vacation, personal, and sick days, a 50% discount on Scholastic merchandise, a 401k plan with company matching, and the attractive possibility of having summers off.

Working at Scholastic provides a unique chance to build a meaningful career in sales within a mission-driven environment. You will have the opportunity to work with products that support student literacy and learning, engage with a collaborative inside sales team, gain exposure to multiple education markets, and benefit from ongoing professional development and career growth opportunities. Scholastic prides itself on fostering a respectful and inclusive workplace where every employee, school partner, and participant feels valued and supported.

The anticipated start date for the next onboarding and training class is August 31, 2026, making this an ideal time for dedicated sales professionals and event coordinators to join a dynamic team that is passionate about making a lasting impact in education and literacy.
