Job Description

Scholastic is a global leader in educational publishing and media, dedicated to promoting lifelong learning and literacy among children and young adults. Established over a century ago, Scholastic has been a trusted partner of schools, educators, and families worldwide, offering a wide range of educational materials including books, multimedia, and educational resources. The company's mission centers around empowering children to become lifelong readers and learners by providing access to high-quality content and fostering a passion for reading. Scholastic's Book Fair programs are a core part of this mission, delivering engaging and interactive experiences that bring books directly to students' fingertips. These fairs are hosted within schools and serve as community events that not only promote reading but also support school fundraising and enrichment programs.

The Sales Consultant and Event Coordinator role at Scholastic offers a unique opportunity to be part of this meaningful mission. This position is focused on expanding and growing the Book Fair programs within a defined territory, where you will collaborate closely with school customers to drive bookings and maximize the success of each fair. By managing a portfolio of accounts, you will build and nurture long-term partnerships with schools, helping them create events that are not only financially successful but that also inspire children, caregivers, and educators alike. This role blends sales expertise with event leadership, requiring skills in closing business deals, account growth, event coordination, and relationship management.

As a Sales Consultant and Event Coordinator, you will be responsible for managing territory performance metrics such as fair count, revenue, and revenue per fair. You will actively engage with customers to influence booking decisions and identify opportunities to upsell programs and promotions. The role demands strong project management abilities to lead high-impact events that drive both positive customer experiences and financial outcomes. Since this is a full-time, hourly, remote position based in Florida, candidates must be highly organized, able to meet tight deadlines, and thrive in a fast-paced, dynamic environment. Scholastic offers a competitive hourly wage between $22 and $26, along with a comprehensive benefits package including medical, dental, and vision insurance, paid time off, a 50% discount on Scholastic merchandise, and a 401(k) plan with company match. The position also includes the possibility of summer breaks and a sales compensation program with opportunities for seasonal and annual incentives.

Joining Scholastic means being part of an organization that values diversity and inclusion, ensuring every team member and community member feels respected and welcomed. This is more than a sales job; it's a chance to contribute to educational outcomes and make a difference in children's lives by fostering a love of reading. If you are motivated by connecting with people, uncovering growth opportunities, and executing well-run events that leave lasting impacts, then this role offers both professional growth and the satisfaction of supporting a noble mission. The next training class begins August 31, 2026, marking the start of a rewarding career path with an influential leader in educational media.
