Job Requirements
- must possess work authorization in the U.S. without visa sponsorship
- able to tolerate loud noise levels and busy environments
- willing to work in drastic temperature climates
- flexible to travel and work during holidays, evenings and weekends as required
- availability to work flexible hours including nights, weekends and holidays
Job Qualifications
- 5+ years of experience in sales with at least 2 years in a managerial capacity within hospitality, events or catering
- strong understanding of the local and regional market
- bachelor's degree in hospitality management, business, marketing or related field preferred
- excellent communication, negotiation and relationship management skills
- existing relationships within the private event industry and buyers
- experience selling in diverse event environments including social, nonprofit and entertainment segments
- strong organizational skills with attention to detail, timelines and accuracy
- professional appearance and demeanor
- comfortable interacting with executive-level clients
- availability to work flexible hours including nights, weekends and holidays
Job Duties
- Aggressively manage revenue generation in line with individual sales goals
- track and report financial performance by market segment monthly and quarterly
- assist leadership in developing annual sales and revenue plans across key market segments
- contribute to forecasting, budgeting and financial reconciliation
- consistently meet or exceed monthly and annual sales targets
- proactively identify, solicit and secure new business through outbound sales efforts
- develop and maintain a robust pipeline of prospective clients
- respond to inbound inquiries within 24 hours
- leverage CRM tools to manage contacts and track opportunities
- manage full sales cycle including lead generation, proposals, site visits, contract negotiations, pre-event planning and post-event follow-up
- generate special events orders, contracts, proposals and event documentation timely and accurately
- ensure seamless hand-off to internal operations teams and maintain oversight of event execution
- serve as primary point of contact for high-profile or complex events
- support leadership in preparing strategic reports
- partner with internal stakeholders to ensure event execution alignment
- ensure staffing levels and event resources are properly coordinated
- recruit, hire, onboard and train team members
- act as brand ambassador promoting venue standards and company values
- build strong relationships with local officials, hotels, professional associations and vendor partners
- represent the venue at tradeshows, networking events and client entertainment opportunities
- assist in development and upkeep of sales collateral, online listings and social media platforms
