Job Description

The Boeing Company, a global leader in aerospace and defense, is renowned for its dedication to innovation, collaboration, and excellence in engineering. Headquartered in Chicago, Illinois, Boeing operates in numerous locations worldwide and is committed to making the world a better place through its cutting-edge products and services. The company prides itself on fostering an inclusive, respectful, and welcoming work environment for all its employees, offering abundant opportunities for professional growth and advancement. Boeing’s extensive portfolio includes commercial airplanes, defense systems, space exploration technologies, and advanced research initiatives, making it one of the most respected names in the industry.

This particular opportunity is for the position of Factory Service Attendant (Custodian) on the 2nd shift, based in Everett, Washington, within Boeing’s vast manufacturing and facility operations. This role is essential in maintaining clean, hygienic, and safe work environments across various company facilities including offices, factories, cafeterias, fitness centers, restrooms, and transportation tunnels. The custodial team ensures that Boeing’s workspaces meet high standards of cleanliness and safety, directly contributing to the wellbeing of its workforce and the overall operational efficiency.

As a Factory Service Attendant, you will play an important role in the upkeep and maintenance of Boeing’s infrastructure by performing routine cleaning tasks and handling specialized cleaning processes using appropriate chemicals and equipment. The role demands adherence to safety protocols, including handling and disposal of hazardous materials, blood-borne pathogen cleanup, and thorough knowledge of cleaning agents and their proper use. You will operate various types of cleaning machinery such as backpack vacuums, carpet shampooers, buffers, and floor care equipment.

This position is fully onsite and is governed by the International Association of Machinists (IAM-751) Collective Bargaining agreement, which ensures fair labor practices and benefits for unionized employees. The opportunity provides employees with competitive hourly wages ranging approximately from $20.32 to $27.11 per hour based on experience and qualifications. In addition to an attractive compensation package, Boeing offers comprehensive medical coverage, support for continuing education, retirement plans, and extensive employee benefits. Notably, many individuals starting in Factory Services find growth potential within the company, with pathways to transfer into other career fields after gaining essential experience during their initial year.

The work environment involves physical activities such as lifting, carrying, pushing, and pulling weights up to 35-45 pounds, standing and walking for long durations, bending, twisting, climbing stairs, and the use of low impact vibratory tools. Safety and precision are essential as you will be following detailed processes and procedures both verbally and in writing. The role requires a high level of independence with occasional teamwork and support across the department.

Candidates should be U.S. persons meeting export control compliance requirements and must be capable of working the 2nd shift at the Everett facility. A valid driver’s license and a high school diploma or GED are minimum required qualifications. The company values experience in janitorial or custodial roles, handling hazardous materials, and following strict work instructions. Relocation assistance is not provided for this role, so local residency or self-funded relocation is necessary.

Boeing’s commitment to equal opportunity employment ensures hiring decisions are unbiased and based solely on qualifications. The company is invested in the personal and professional well-being of its employees, offering innovative benefits such as tuition assistance, fertility and adoption benefits, and charitable gift matching programs.
