Job Description

Job Requirements

  • Minimum 16 years of age
  • Possession of an appropriate, valid driver's license
  • Ability to work flexible hours including nights and weekends
  • Must be punctual and reliable
  • Pass background check
  • Pass drug screen
  • Pass physical exam and essential functions test
  • Legally eligible to work in the United States

Job Qualifications

  • Minimum one year of experience in a fast-paced customer service environment
  • Ability to effectively communicate and interact with the public
  • Basic knowledge of audio-visual equipment operation preferred
  • Strong organizational and problem-solving skills
  • Flexibility to work varying shifts including nights and weekends
  • Ability to perform light physical tasks such as lifting and moving furniture
  • Valid driver’s license
  • High school diploma or equivalent preferred

Job Duties

  • Assist in the daily operation of Arboretum's LongHouse
  • Support Operation Supervisor and Event Supervisor to cover 7 day operations
  • Set-up and arrange rooms and event spaces for meetings and other functions
  • Ensure rooms are clean and properly prepared before and after meetings
  • Distribute equipment and ensure proper use and return
  • Operate and maintain audio-visual and operational equipment
  • Assist event planning team in setup and delivery of events
  • Deliver operational programming such as tours, greeter duties, shop sales
  • Communicate appropriately with facility users and maintain good customer relations
  • Respond to unexpected situations
  • Follow facility use guidelines and policies
  • Provide operational support including setup and tear-down of tables, chairs, equipment, and supplies
  • Perform light custodial duties such as sweeping, mopping, and cleaning
  • Work assigned days and hours and maintain punctuality
  • Adhere to attendance standards and work deadlines
