The county seat, Bryan, serves as a hub for community events and activities that support both residents and visitors alike. The Brazos County Exposition Complex plays a crucial role in this community, offering a versatile space where numerous events ranging from rodeos, meetings, conventions, to fairs are held throughout the year. This complex is a key asset for Brazos County, facilitating cultural, business, and social gatherings that strengthen community ties and economic development.
The Brazos County Exposition Complex is looking to hire a dedicated Facility Operations Assistant to join their team. This role is essential in ensuring the complex's daily operations run smoothly through effective maintenance, event setup, and cleanup. The Facility Operations Assistant supports a wide array of responsibilities including janitorial duties, event preparation and teardown, and maintenance tasks. The incumbent will work closely with other staff including event supervisors, coordinators, and managers to ensure a safe, clean, and welcoming environment for event attendees and visitors.
The position requires hands-on involvement in operating light to moderate equipment such as tractors, forklifts, and skid steer loaders. A willingness to work flexible hours including evenings, weekends, and holidays is necessary to meet the demands of events and seasonal schedules. Duties also encompass inventory control, assisting with repairs and painting, and occasionally overseeing part-time or temporary event staff. The role demands physical stamina, with tasks that often involve lifting heavy objects up to 100 pounds and performing rigorous cleaning tasks to maintain the high standards expected at the complex.
Applicants should have a high school diploma or equivalent and at least one year of related work experience, preferably with some proficiency in operating tractors or similar equipment. While formal certifications are not required, the applicant must exhibit a strong commitment to safety, teamwork, and effective communication. This is a non-supervisory position; however, there may be opportunities to assist with staff scheduling and supervision during special events.
This role offers a unique opportunity to be part of a dynamic team responsible for supporting a variety of events that enrich the Brazos County community. Individuals passionate about facility maintenance, event support, and operational efficiency will find this position rewarding and impactful. Working in an environment that is lively, sometimes fast-paced, and essential to the county’s recreational and convention activities, the Facility Operations Assistant plays a key role in the success of the Brazos County Exposition Complex and its mission to serve its community with excellence.
