The Hybrid Engineer/Porter position is a full-time role directly supervised by the Facility Manager and guided daily by the Client to manage cleanliness and general building repair and maintenance. The professional in this role is crucial to ensuring all building systems function properly and the facility remains clean and safe for occupants. Responsibilities include routine repairs to door hardware, plumbing, electrical systems, HVAC maintenance, and flooring as well as performing emergency preparedness functions such as operating fire alarms and emergency generators. Regular preventive maintenance and inspection tasks play a significant role, including fire extinguisher checks and cleaning high-touch surfaces.

This role also demands active participation in exterior maintenance such as snow removal, lawn care including mowing and trimming, and debris clearance to maintain appealing grounds. The Hybrid Engineer/Porter will ensure that restrooms and common spaces like break rooms and vending areas are clean, sanitary, and well-stocked. An important aspect will involve adherence to OSHA bloodborne pathogens cleaning procedures for hygiene and safety compliance.

Flexibility for event support, special project assistance, and inventory management of building tools and supplies is essential. The role requires lifting moderate loads of materials and equipment and being available on-call to respond responsibly to urgent facility or security issues. Excellent communication with security, management, and service providers will support swift resolution of operational challenges.
