The role of Distribution Facility Manager at Performance Team is critical in directing and overseeing all operational functions of a distribution facility. The manager is responsible for evaluating and optimizing systems and procedures, making necessary changes to enhance operations. The role extends to overseeing store deliveries including unloading, sorting, palletizing, and ensuring on-time delivery. It also includes managing domestic pickup and delivery functions, plus repair and maintenance of the facility and transportation fleet. Continuous improvement methodologies are leveraged to boost labor productivity and process accuracy within a clean and safe environment.

Supervisory responsibilities cover direct oversight of 5 or more employees and indirect management of over 200 associates in operations and transportation. The role requires skills in interviewing, hiring, training, assigning work, performance evaluation, and managing a workforce with a significant proportion of temporary employees due to fluctuating volumes. Job Qualifications

  • Solid financial, analytical and P&L experience
  • Familiarity with Lean techniques and continuous improvement models
  • Experience with warehouse management and transportation management systems (WMS/TMS/YMS)
  • Experience creating a high-trust, high-performance, team culture

Job Duties

  • Develops and maintains operations business plans, productivity and standards to include all customer/company requirements, labor hours, equipment, facility costs, and human resource decisions to enable organization to reach goals and focus on continuous improvement
  • Ensures operational procedures are followed for activities such as verification of incoming and outgoing shipments, handling disposition of materials, and keeping warehouse inventory current
  • Reviews operating reports, identifies and directs the resolution of operational and maintenance problems to ensure minimum costs and prevent operational delays
  • Responsible for financial analysis and aggressive management of operational expenses
  • manages the facility P&L
  • Work closely with port management to ensure smooth facilitation of drayage services
  • Performs administrative activities associated with the effective management of operations, including compiling, storing, and retrieving data for reports, interfacing with other functional areas, and continuous communication with customers
  • Trains and ensures all assigned employees are aware of and comply with company, government, and customer policies, procedures, and regulations
  • Monitors activities of work teams to ensure safe practices are in place and being followed at all times
  • Monitor building to ensure proper housekeeping is being practiced
  • Give guidance on safety and security issues, and interface with corporate on all issues
  • Ultimately accountable for outcome of key performance indicators (KPIs)
  • Strong focus on Ecommerce and Omni Channel fulfillment
  • Distribution focus: oversight of shipping/receiving, picking/packing, inventory and VAS activities
  • Experienced in rapid carton throughput – import deconsolidation/domestic consolidation
