Job Description

Balfour Beatty Communities is a prominent real estate company committed to delivering high-quality residential communities that residents are proud to call home. Their dedication to excellence is rooted in a company culture centered on caring—whether it be for residents, partners, communities, or employees. This culture nurtures meaningful interactions and quality service through genuine empathy, innovative problem-solving, and reliable customer focus. As part of Balfour Beatty Investments and the international group Balfour Beatty, plc, the company benefits from a strong heritage of financing, developing, building, and maintaining infrastructure assets worldwide, which enhances its operational excellence and sustainability efforts.

At Balfour Beatty Communities, the mission is to foster exceptional living experiences by delivering well-maintained, welcoming, and thriving neighborhoods. They achieve this by focusing on integrity and establishing long-lasting relationships with residents and partners, ensuring satisfaction and community pride.

The Facility Manager/Director position plays a crucial role in supporting this mission by overseeing and directing the daily repair and maintenance operations within a single installation community. This role is responsible for managing a team of maintenance personnel, ensuring effective training, professional development, and delivering outstanding customer service. Through regular physical inspections, the Facility Manager supervises the upkeep and maintenance of all community assets, creating a safe, attractive, and functional environment for residents.

This leadership role also entails forecasting maintenance needs, budgeting, time management, and collaborating with military executives and internal project management teams to align maintenance goals with operational standards. The position demands strong financial oversight, keeping maintenance projects within budget, and promoting safety compliance, including environmental regulations and Zero Harm safety initiatives. By developing a motivated and skilled team, the Facility Manager drives the company’s operational success and helps maintain high property standards.

The role requires hands-on involvement with physical demands such as manipulating tools, handling office materials, and conducting inspections. It is a blend of administrative and practical leadership, making it ideal for candidates with supervisory experience in facility management. The company encourages a proactive approach to challenges, enabling collaboration and innovation within a structured framework tied to community wellbeing and operational efficiency.

Balfour Beatty Communities offers a competitive benefits package including discretionary bonuses, medical and dental insurance starting the first of the month following employment, health, flexible spending, and dependent care accounts, company-paid life insurance, a 401K plan with employer matching, robust paid time off including sick leave and personal days, volunteer days, paid disability, and parental leave among other valuable perks. This reflects the company’s commitment to supporting the professional and personal wellbeing of its employees.
