The Facilities Technician position plays a vital role in maintaining the high standards of facility functionality and safety across multiple Planet Fitness locations operated by Flynn Fitness Group. Reporting to the Facilities Manager, the Facilities Technician performs skilled maintenance and repair work across diverse trades including electrical systems, plumbing, HVAC, carpentry, painting, and fitness equipment maintenance. This multifaceted role is essential in ensuring operational efficiency by diagnosing and repairing issues quickly and effectively to minimize downtime.

The ideal candidate will have a minimum of three years of maintenance experience, preferably in commercial or multi-site environments, and must bring a collaborative team spirit, strategic problem-solving abilities, and a commitment to delivering outstanding service. While familiarity with fitness equipment such as strength machines and cardio gear is advantageous, it is not mandatory, as on-the-job training is provided.

This position demands hands-on technical expertise with proficiency in tools and systems such as HVAC controls, electrical wiring, plumbing fixtures, carpentry repairs, drywall and painting, and computerized maintenance management systems (CMMS). The Facilities Technician will coordinate closely with the Facilities Coordinator, Club Operations, and cross-functional teams to oversee preventative maintenance schedules, respond promptly to emergency repairs, manage interactions with external contractors, and ensure all activities comply with safety and company standards.

The role requires flexibility to be on call for after-hours, weekend, and emergency situations to support uninterrupted facility operations. Physical demands include the ability to lift up to 75 pounds, climb ladders, and perform manual tasks over extended periods. Candidates must hold a valid driver’s license and successfully complete a background check as part of the hiring process.
