The Facilities Technician position at the Kellanova plant in Cary, NC plays a pivotal role in maintaining and optimizing the facility’s operations. This full-time, night shift position entails working 12-hour shifts from 6 pm to 6 am on a 2-2-3 schedule, with every other weekend off, offering a competitive hourly rate of $35.08. This role requires an individual who is passionate about facility maintenance and excels in being the go-to expert for various building systems, including water, HVAC, air compressors, sprinkler systems, and electrical power distribution.

As a Facilities Technician, you will be responsible for identifying and preventing potential issues within the plant environment, directly contributing to the company’s safety goals and operational efficiency. The job requires the application of specialized skills across multiple trades including millwork, carpentry, electrical, plumbing, HVAC, and mechanical crafts. You will evaluate, diagnose, and troubleshoot assigned systems and equipment to ensure seamless operation. Additionally, this role involves tracking facility needs by identifying necessary materials and equipment for projects while maintaining accurate records of material and labor usage.

Leadership qualities are essential, as you will determine the scope and work procedures for various work orders and lead the installation, maintenance, and repair of designated building systems. Guiding other technicians during projects is a key component of the role, fostering collaboration and maintaining high standards for quality and safety. Adherence to all established safety, health, and quality procedures is mandatory to promote a safe and productive work environment.

Maintaining strong customer service skills is crucial to this position. Job Duties

  • Perform work involving millwork, carpentry, electrical, plumbing, HVAC and mechanical crafts to evaluate, diagnose, and troubleshoot buildings, systems, and equipment as assigned
  • Responsible for identifying materials and equipment needed for work to be accomplished, and maintaining records of both materials and labor used on projects
  • Evaluate work orders to determine scope and work procedures necessary to perform job
  • Lead in the installation, maintenance, and repair of designated building systems while guiding other technicians in projects
  • Understand, follow, and enforce all established safety, health, and quality procedures to drive forward production
  • Establish rapport with business partners across the plant floor to solve problems with a strong sense of urgency
