Currently, Bloom Energy is seeking a Facilities Technician to join their team in Fremont, California. This role is a full-time, on-site position, operating during the day shift from 6am to 2pm, Monday through Friday. The Facilities Technician will report directly to the Senior Manager of Facilities & Real Estate and is integral to maintaining the operational integrity and safety standards of their manufacturing facilities. This position demands exceptional customer service skills as the technician will regularly interact with staff, vendors, and contractors to ensure seamless facility operations.

The Facilities Technician's responsibilities include performing routine maintenance, troubleshooting, and repairs on building systems, including HVAC, plumbing, electrical, and fire safety systems. They are expected to monitor these systems rigorously for compliance with local building and safety codes and to maintain detailed records of inspections and maintenance activities. The role also involves coordinating with external contractors and service providers, managing work orders, and executing maintenance projects efficiently and safely.

Candidates must possess more than five years of proven facilities experience, be capable of lifting up to 50 pounds, and have strong multitasking and project management capabilities. The ability to work independently, combined with excellent communication and interpersonal skills, is essential for success in this role. Familiarity with MS Office applications such as PowerPoint, Excel, and Word is required to manage documentation and reporting tasks effectively.

Job Duties

  • Inspects completed work for performance with requirements of local building and safety codes
  • Performs routine maintenance, troubleshooting, and repairs on buildings for manufacturing facilities
  • Addresses issues such as leaks, electrical outages, plumbing or HVAC inefficiencies
  • Monitors systems such as heating, ventilation, air conditioning, and alarms
  • Ensures fire safety systems are functional and compliant
  • Keeps records of daily inspections and understands building maintenance systems
  • Paints, patches walls, assists with office moves or furniture repairs, and flooring maintenance
  • Coordinates with contractors and outside service providers
  • Prioritizes daily activities and work order scheduling
  • Keeps management informed on progress and delays of maintenance work orders and repairs
  • Interacts courteously with staff, vendors, and public
  • Maintains effective working relationships
  • Creates P.O.s and PR.s for materials and supplies
  • Participates in safety training and meetings and uses safe working practices
  • Responds to emergencies as needed
  • Drives between buildings as required
  • Executes additional duties as assigned
