The Facilities Technician role at Bloom Energy is based in San Jose, CA, and is a fully on-site position requiring work during the day shift from 6am to 2pm, Monday through Friday. Reporting to the Senior Manager of Facilities and Real Estate, this role is essential in maintaining the integrity and operational efficiency of the manufacturing facilities by performing routine maintenance, troubleshooting, and repairs. The Facilities Technician is responsible for ensuring compliance with safety and building codes, monitoring HVAC and fire safety systems, coordinating with contractors, and supporting various facility-related tasks such as office moves and furniture repairs. This position demands a proactive approach to problem-solving, exceptional customer service skills, and the ability to manage multiple priorities effectively. Candidates will find themselves working in an environment that values self-motivation, teamwork, and continuous improvement. This role also involves driving between buildings, necessitating a valid driver's license and reliable transportation. The salary range for this position is between $28.02 and $40.32 per hour, reflecting the company’s commitment to fair compensation based on skills and experience. Job Requirements

  • High school diploma or equivalent
  • valid driver’s license and reliable car
  • minimum 5 years of facilities maintenance experience
  • ability to lift 50 lbs
  • availability to work day shift, Monday through Friday, 6am to 2pm
  • ability to work on-site at San Jose location
  • proficiency with MS Office software
  • strong communication and customer service skills
  • able to manage multiple projects and prioritize work orders
  • committed to safety policies and procedures

Job Qualifications

  • Minimum 5 years of equivalent proven facilities experience
  • ability to lift up to 50 lbs
  • strong multitasking and project management abilities
  • ability to resolve facilities issues independently
  • good computer skills including MS Office suite (Word, Excel, PowerPoint)
  • excellent written, verbal, and listening communication skills
  • motivated self-starter capable of self-management with minimal oversight
  • strong interpersonal skills and ability to establish effective cross-functional relationships

Job Duties

  • Inspect completed work for compliance with building and safety codes
  • perform routine maintenance, troubleshooting, and repairs on manufacturing facilities
  • address leaks, electrical outages, plumbing, and HVAC inefficiencies
  • monitor heating, ventilation, air conditioning, and alarm systems
  • ensure fire safety systems are functional and compliant
  • maintain records of daily inspections and building maintenance systems
  • paint, patch walls, assist with office moves, furniture repairs, and flooring maintenance
  • coordinate with contractors and outside service providers
  • prioritize daily activities and schedule work orders
  • keep management informed on preventive maintenance and repair status
  • interact courteously with staff, vendors, and the public
  • create purchase orders and PRs for materials and supplies
  • participate in safety training and use safe work practices
  • respond to emergencies and repair requests
  • ensure reliable transportation and valid driver's license
  • execute additional duties as assigned
