The Maintenance Technician II role at Nordstrom is a critical position responsible for helping lead a skilled team to maintain and optimize the store’s facility systems. In this position, the Maintenance Technician II supports the Facility Manager by ensuring the store environment is ready and fully operational for business every day. Key daily responsibilities include leading preventive maintenance schedules, troubleshooting electrical and mechanical issues, monitoring and operating building controls, and ensuring compliance with safety standards. This person must also be capable of mentoring junior technicians, updating computerized maintenance management systems, and communicating effectively with multiple stakeholders, including contractors and property managers. The role demands a proactive approach to identifying and mitigating equipment and system malfunctions while maintaining accurate documentation and records to support operational excellence.

Nordstrom values applicants with a solid foundation in facility maintenance, preferably with associates or higher education from vocational schools or colleges. A strong background with over five years of hands-on mechanical maintenance experience, particularly related to HVAC, refrigeration, electrical, plumbing, and carpentry, is essential. Candidates should possess strong problem-solving skills for troubleshooting both low voltage and electromechanical systems and demonstrate the ability to work independently while managing multiple deadlines in a fast-paced environment.
