This job opening is for a critical, field-based multi-unit Maintenance Manager role. The position involves managing electrical systems, equipment, roofing, parking lots, and general building maintenance across multiple member-facing retail locations. The Maintenance Manager plays a pivotal role in supporting club operations by ensuring the upkeep and seamless functioning of physical assets that directly impact the customer and member experience. They must coordinate with Club Operations and other departments to promptly resolve maintenance issues and proactively prevent problems that could affect daily operations and member satisfaction. An essential aspect of the job is contractor management, where the manager oversees contractors’ performance and ensures efficient use of maintenance budgets across all assigned locations. The role requires regular presence across locations to support club teams and maintain operational standards, making it highly hands-on and involved.
Additional strategic responsibilities include developing and implementing cost-effective preventative maintenance programs, selecting vendors wisely, applying conservation strategies, and contributing to site design improvements to reduce repair expenses. The manager is responsible for fostering strong working relationships with club management, service contractors, and manufacturers. Scheduling and coordinating capital improvement projects on time and within budget, conducting routine inspections to identify and document problems and remedies, managing budgets for ongoing and future projects, and overseeing contract compliance including invoice and change order approval are integral parts of this role. The ideal candidate will have extensive experience in retail building maintenance, especially multi-site management, solid knowledge of retail HVAC, electrical systems, and EMS operations, coupled with a Bachelor's degree in business, science, technology, or equivalent experience. The position involves travel including potential overnight stays to ensure consistent maintenance standards across the clubs. Job Requirements
- 5 years of experience in retail building maintenance
- Experience supporting multiple sites or locations preferred
- Knowledge of building construction, food service equipment, fire protection and alarm equipment is a plus
- Bachelor's degree in business, science, technology or equivalent work experience is required
- Weekly travel with potential overnight stays
- Working knowledge of retail HVAC
- General familiarity of electrical systems
- Operational knowledge of EMS system
