We are currently seeking experienced Facilities Technicians to join our Technical Operations team. This role is an excellent opportunity for individuals ready to support the airline industry by maintaining critical airport and facility infrastructure. Facilities Technicians at United Airlines are responsible for a broad range of maintenance activities, including electrical work, HVAC, plumbing, structural repairs, and more. Candidates will find themselves working in dynamic environments, both indoors and outdoors, often in varying weather conditions and around the clock. This position involves troubleshooting, installation, and repair of various electrical and mechanical systems vital to airport operations. It requires proficiency in handling high voltage electrical equipment, interpreting wiring schematics, and maintaining industrial systems such as air handling units, fire systems, conveyors, and computer-controlled devices.
Successful candidates will benefit from a competitive starting pay rate of $34.52 per hour, with the role being eligible for profit sharing bonuses. Job Requirements
- Must have twenty four months of experience in relevant trades
- Must have completed high school diploma, GED or equivalent
- Must be able to work indoors and outdoors, including in elevated areas
- Must be able to climb ladders and perform moderate lifting
- Must possess necessary tools for job functions
- Must have computer skills for data handling
- Must be available immediately for full-time work
- Must have a valid and clean state driver’s license
Job Qualifications
- Twenty four months experience in at least three of the following: electrical including 480 volt three-phase, structural steel frame construction, HVAC including building management systems, mechanical including conveyors, plumbing, PLC electronic/computer controls
- High school diploma, GED or equivalent
- Ability to maintain and repair building disciplines including heavy mechanical and welding
- Experience working indoors, outdoors and at elevated heights
- Capability to climb ladders and walk for extended periods
- Moderate physical lifting ability
- Possession of sufficient tooling to perform tasks
- Computer literacy for data input and retrieval
- Immediate availability for full-time employment
- Valid and clean state driver’s license
- Electronics diagnostics and troubleshooting skills preferred
Job Duties
- Maintain general building electrical systems including AC and DC circuits
- Perform high voltage (480 volts) electrical repairs and installations
- Read and follow wiring schematics independently
- Repair and maintain air handling units, plumbing, fire systems, and conveyors
- Work varied shifts including nights, weekends, and holidays
- Climb ladders and work in elevated or outdoor conditions
- Collaborate with union representatives to ensure compliance with contract provisions
