The employment type for this Facilities Maintenance Technician position is full-time, offering a competitive hourly wage of $23.00 with the added advantage of a variable incentive program. The Facilities Maintenance Technician role at Eaton involves providing integral support to Manufacturing, OPEX, and Environmental Health and Safety departments by maintaining electrical assembly operations in optimal condition. This position plays a crucial part in enhancing operational efficiency through routine preventive maintenance, predictive maintenance, and reactive troubleshooting to minimize equipment downtime. The technician will be responsible for servicing various facility and production assets, including machinery, buildings, and infrastructure components. The role demands proficiency in a broad set of maintenance disciplines such as electrical, mechanical, and control systems repair, as well as building trades like carpentry, plumbing, HVAC, welding, and general facility upkeep.

Job Requirements

  • a minimum of three years of experience in commercial or industrial facilities maintenance
  • a minimum of one year experience in the electrical field with voltages from 24V to 480V
  • experience utilizing hydraulic, pneumatic, and electrical schematics in troubleshooting scenarios
  • must have a high school diploma or GED from an accredited institution
  • no relocation is provided for this position, only candidates that currently reside within 50 miles of the El Paso, TX facility will be considered

  • able to utilize hydraulic, pneumatic, and electrical schematics in troubleshooting scenarios
  • knowledge and experience in commercial or industrial building trades

Job Qualifications

  • a minimum of three years of experience in commercial or industrial facilities maintenance
  • a minimum of one year experience in the electrical field with voltages from 24V to 480V
  • experience utilizing hydraulic, pneumatic, and electrical schematics in troubleshooting scenarios
  • must have a high school diploma or GED from an accredited institution
  • minimum five years of experience in commercial or industrial facilities maintenance or similar environment
  • strong electrical background and experience
  • two year technical degree or certification in electronics, electrical power and controls, fluid power, HVAC or basic PLC programming
  • journeyman or three years of documented maintenance experience in an industrial electrical or mechanical trade
  • licensed HVAC technician, plumber, and/or electrician
  • basic skills in reading, arithmetic and writing in English and Spanish
  • bilingual in English and Spanish

Job Duties

  • perform preventive and predictive maintenance on equipment
  • read and interpret technical diagrams
  • troubleshoot, analyze, and repair equipment using a systematic process to identify root cause
  • perform mechanical and general facilities repairs, including painting, carpentry, dry wall repairs, plumbing, HVAC, welding, roofing, landscape irrigation, toilets, sinks, and furniture
  • troubleshoot and repair mechanical, electrical, and control systems
  • complete work on continuous improvement activities related to the facility such as 5S+, TPM, setup reduction
  • supervise outside contractors on various plant projects and repairs
