This job opportunity is for a Facilities Maintenance Technician role to support YES Prep Public Schools’ infrastructure. The Technician will be responsible for executing routine maintenance tasks encompassing several domains such as carpentry, electrical work, HVAC (heating, ventilation, and air conditioning), and plumbing. This full-time, non-exempt hourly position reports to the Facilities Supervisor and plays a critical role in ensuring the safety, functionality, and cleanliness of school facilities. The work schedule is Monday through Friday from 6:00 AM to 3:00 PM and is based in Southeast Houston near the East Loop Freeway (zip code 77012).

As a Facilities Maintenance Technician, you will be tasked with evaluating, repairing, and maintaining critical building systems to create an optimal learning environment for students, staff, and visitors. The role demands proficiency with various tools and instruments, and the ability to work independently with minimal supervision. In addition, strong communication and interpersonal skills are essential to effectively coordinate with the facilities management team and external experts when specialized assistance is needed.
